How in the world were 2 of the three bartenders who were arrested allowed anywhere near the bar when they were under 21 years of age?

Because at 18 you are not considered a minor.

It's consumption under 21 that's illegal....Not handling it.

It just seems like the establishments are asking for trouble when young adults who don't think about the consequences of what can happen when you serve an under aged person are allowed to work as a bartender.

The State Liquor Authority suspended the liquor license of Gepetto's as a result of the raid that found 55 of the 75 patrons were underage, according to an agency spokesman. The raid was conducted by the SLA, the state Department of Motor Vehicles and Schenectady police.

The DMV also ticketed four minors for criminal possession of a forged instrument for having a fake ID. SLA agents documented 16 direct sales to minors and obtained 16 additional admissions of minors purchasing alcohol, according to the spokesman.

being 21 doesn't make folks any smarter when it comes to alcohol consumption....it just sets up a higher 'bar'(no pun intended) of which our illustrious leaders made, knowing this and also knowing(if they are educated) that being 18 and
being 21 and even being 30, 40, 50 really doesn't do much.....but those years between 18-21....oh boy,,,jobs and tickets galore......

'Psst, hey, little American, yeah, you, Uncle Sam wants YOU. He wants you to go kill people in another country and maybe get yourself killed. Nah, dont worry, we give you the guns and ALL the training and brainwashing you need.
By the way, you can't drink alcohol until you reach 21 in America or you reach the shore of another country. And dont forget to write your mom."

Good thing they made the bust.  Probably prevented a future shooting, stabbing or choking crime.   Yuppie.

First.........most establishments owners that serve alcohol, USUALLY have drinking aged folks working behind the bar.

Second.......It's right across from Union college!!! What did they expect? Have they checked out pin heads, bombers, the ditch...etc......
This action will just keep the college kids (if that's who it was) on the campus grounds to have their parties.

So the question here is............DO WE ALL FEEL SAFER NOW????
