Schenectady County is #1.   According to a Chan.13 11PM News report Monday, the 13th, there have been 180 strangulation related arrests.   Albany was 2nd with 152.   This has been since the crime was upgraded from a harrassment charge.   I did not hear what time period this entails, but regardless it's a disturbing number.   Further more what is alarming is Alb. Ct. has a population of 304,000+, while Schdy Ct. has a population of 154,000+.   Alb. almost twice the pop. but less arrests on this charge.    Either area could have more, as some propably go unreported.   This could increase 1 area over the other, but one can only comment on the numbers reported to form an opinion.   Population numbers courtesy of 2010 census.

maybe they were going to say that strangulation is cathartic??? and it's Rx is mandated by the government for health insurance to pay for?

I've felt a little strangulated by my tax bills lately.  Have a feeling you will be seeing a lot of bathroom removals in the coming years.....with permits of course to lower the fees.....won't lower the number of people going to the potty though or less showers.  Just will have to wait a little longer to go.  Thinking a bathroom kitchen removal business might make sense in this city.

I said robberies and shots fired calls are down.  Robberies are down by a third since 2006.

With respect to domestic violence - I have repeatedly said it is major crime problem and difficult to address through law enforcement means because
it is deeply rooted in the way some people handle interpersonal conflict.
So why do you continue to lie?

You're right - you never said "major crimes are down" - you said VIOLENT crime isn't a problem.

I guess it's all on what you qualify as a "Major" -v- "Violent" crime.  Either way, per capita, CRIMES are an issue - a MAJOR issue, throughout, and there's really no sign or way you're going to convince the public that it's getting better.
