Speakers seem to be talking about that at the council tonight.

This one guy seems to indicated most are in the low paid jobs (and mentions Glendale) plus some CO's.      Perhaps the city needs to hire a minority "city engineer"  but the city can't even find a non-minority.

Some talk like the city is the entity that is supposed to cause minorities to get hired in private business.   But then one speaker referenced "projects" that supposedly are supposed to have some percent of minority.  Not sure if that means that the construction company must have X% or if the business that ultimately opens must have X% minority employment.  

That Plant guy sounded like he wants the city to ignore civil service law with respect to exams--oh yeah, can you see that happening, the dems would hire ALL patronage, qualified or not!   He often says there's not enough of "this" category or "that" category of employees, and you wonder if he wants existing employees terminated and replaced wtih protected class employees, or if he just things the city needs to just hire additional (protected class) employees even if there are no openings.

Since projects are required to be bid, is it that minority contractors aren't specialized or aren't big enough for the jobs needed or aren't the low (qualified) bidder?  

Wow, wouldn't it be better if the dems removed the tax exemptions from the well heeled and/or politically connected downtown so that the tax burden on homeonwers would be reduced and maybe people would actually buy houses in the city?

I don't even know what the hell a minority is anymore. But I will tell you one thing.....there are folks going around schenectady looking for jobs. Or at least going thru the motions. They carry a form with them that the business owner must sign to verify that this person came in looking for a job.

From what we're hearing....EVERYONE OF THEM has someone driving them around...for whatever reason. They can not write legibly and they certainly don't have a handle on the English language. (and these folks are NOT foreigners)And alltho they may have a legitimate reason for their torn and worn clothes, there is no excuse for not being 'clean' and brushing their teeth and combing their hair!!

Unemployment and DSS is obviously sending these folks out to look for jobs 'knowingly' that no one will hire them in their present condition.

And this is what happens folks when a socialist society 'creates' a parasitic society that lowers self esteem and hence destroys all value!!!
