SCHENECTADY — City police said they apprehended a suspect Wednesday morning after a brief chase.

Lt. Mark McCracken said the chase, which began just after 9 a.m., was initiated by State Police. Troopers tried to pull the suspect over while he was driving into the city, but the man sped away, McCracken said.

The suspect stopped the vehicle on Duane Avenue, got out and began to run, McCracken said.
