Those employees at DOT are for sure breathing a big sigh of relief now.
No more worries about whether they are going to be shot or stabbed when they go to work.
They will have oh so very many places to shop, they won't be limited to the head shop products, used junk, and overpriced books
You notice how the cheerleader (for increasing taxes on the homewoners)and all his imaginery friends have avoided commeting. Hanging his many heads in shame |

bumble you really enjoy just spouting off about the City regardless of the accuracy of your assertions
Robbery arte down over 30% since 2006.
Postal workers monitoring pit bulls - postal service keeps track of vicious dogs their carriers encounter. them monitoring simply meant they would forward those lisst to the Cit, who in turn, would check to ascertain if they were dangerous and/or licensed. City never turned that responsibility over to them.
Free car for all government employees - really.

Robbery arte down over 30% since 2006.
While at a local watering hole this weekend I had a conversation with a young man that has an apartment in Schenectady. He mentioned bikes getting stolen and talked about some other criminal activity, and said that's what happens - "this is Scheneck". Then he said his house was robbed a few days earlier. I asked if he reported it to the police, he said no, there is no point, they won't get caught, and if the people who he believes he knows that robbed him found out the cops were called, it would only get worse. So, based on that one story, it may be so bad in Schenectady that the criminals instill more fear and operate with so much impunity, where it is to the point the victims don't even bother to call the police. Certainly not a scientific study, but I found it interesting that his attitude about getting robbed was as if it's a daily part of life. |

What designates a dogs owner. If a person gets a puppy and never liscences it and then the dog grows up and then it mauls someone how do they determine the owner. Is the fine for failure to liscence (If the owner even admits that they owne the dog) the same as a citation for your liscensed dog mauling someone. Anyone have the numbers for these fines? |

these same stories are rampant through out the city. Ya have to get up close and personal with the folks to hear the 'truth'. We can't depend on the news media for facts. They just sit back and wait for the government departments to fax over 'their stats'.....and then print them as fact. There is no more investigative journalism any more. That's why there are more and more citizen journalists! I just heard a story from a victim in the mt.pleasant area that was robbed at knife point. (was cut up a little too) The victim called the cops and....are you ready for this one..........asked the victim if the perpetrator was still there!!! The victim said 'NO' and it took the cops over an hour to get there. The victim is now a private citizen gun owner for self protection!! This victim said these things happen everyday and most folks won't waste their time reporting it because the cops do NOTHING!! Not blaming the cops here.........just stating the FACTS!!! Someone has to!! |

It won't matter because they are not statistics based on 'real life facts'!! Unless it is an obvious 'stabbing death'......most folks don't bother calling when a crime is committed. Just ask these 'real life folks'! How can anyone believe the statistics that come from an dysfunctional entity that couldn't run a lemonade stand! |

DCJS crime stats - typical- dismiss any fact that doesn't support your point.
and buttress your argument with your personal anecdotes that we have no way of verifying
basically - you are the only believable source...OK, seems reasonable |

TiB DCJS 2006 over 300 robberies - 2011 - 211.
Now if I had said robberies were up by 50% would you have asked me for my source? |

Probably not because the numbers dont make the difference, it is how the environment feels. It just feels worse. And I also understand what the other bloggers are saying . It does feel like a waste of time talking to the police. They do not take action. They are even bad acting like they are listening. Can you provide the source , link so I can see these? Would like to look at a trend of the type. Word on the streets is that the gangs are getting out of control. Do you think this is true? |
