How much you want to bet that someone brings a knife to the cops that could be involved in a stabbing and they throw it away, down a storm drain? Don't think it will happen? I've seen it.
The fact of the matter is...........these folks walk among us every single day. There is a lot of crime that goes on in downtown schenectady and beyond and it is never reported publicly.
We were talking to a 20-something kid today who said he and his friends won't go anywhere near bombers or anywhere downtown cause there are plenty of 'fights waiting to happen'.

SCHENECTADY — Police have identified the victim of Monday morning's fatal stabbing.
Detectives say there is no known relationship between Tammi Washington, 43, of 140 Park Place and those charged with her death.
Washington was stabbed to death during an argument on Clinton Street, police said.
Police found the victim bleeding to death in the parking lot of the Bank of America at 500 State St. following the attack, which occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Monday. She was transported to Ellis Hospital, where she later died, police said.
The attack occurred near State Street, a busy section of downtown that is close to Proctors and other downtown attractions, police said.
Police have arrested two people in connection with the attack.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
The facts are known. All three of these individuals were fighting at the Salvation Army free breakfast. Some of the volunteers at Salvation Army were hurt but they told the three people to leave.
Fight breaks out at Bombers...the cops would be called. Fight breaks out in a school...lockdown and police called. Fight breaks out in Salvation Army free breakfast........go to the parking lot.
McCracken noted the host of cameras in the downtown area. Police have been going over the camera footage.
He also noted a regular police walking patrol of the downtown, along with police patrols. The walking officer had begun his shift shortly before the stabbing. The walking patrol runs Monday through Friday.
“Acts of violence in the downtown region are not common,” McCracken said. “This is certainly outside the norm. It’s an unfortunate incident. It’s tragic. But it’s in no way indicative of the day-to-day activities down there.”
Yup walking patrols downtown but in neighborhoods nothing, nada. And no violence downtown? Sure there isn't
