Student charged with assault Updated 08:52 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012
SCHENECTADY — An 18-year-old student at Northeast Parent & Child Society's Hamburg Street school campus has been charged with felony assault for allegedly punching a female teacher, city police said Wednesday.
Lt. Mark McCracken said Jordan Jones of Schenectady was serving an in-school suspension around 10 a.m. Wednesday when he left the classroom.
The teaching staff ordered him to return and then struggled with him when he became unruly, McCracken said.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
So will this EIGHTEEN year old be tried as an adult? Wonder if he has a history of violence. WTH is an 'in school suspension'? What was the 'in school suspension' for?
I do hope that the teacher is ok!

Bumblethru, in order to explain it the easiest, if you remember study hall, it's essentially an all-day study hall as long as the school says you need to be in it, essentially detention during the school day, and you don't get to run around and chat with your friends between classes.

Never had an in school suspension aka all day detention in the school I went to. If you got suspended.....you did NOT go to school....PERIOD! And when you were allowed back into school......you walked back in 'with your parents'!

Yeah, this is another way that the parents don't have to actually face the facts. Usually, this type comes before out of school suspension (what we would have normally thought would be the first step).
