but the people who are building and will occupy the places downtown, they are very well-heeled and can more than afford to pay for EVERYTHING out of their own pockets.

So tell us DV, why do the financially struggling homeowners have to continue to pay for the rich?   Huh?

You still have never answered.....HOW are plummeting property values indicastive of a renaissance?    Where is the renaissance?   A city of neighborhoods full of abandoned houses, houses sitting for sale for 6 months with no takers----is that what YOU define as renaissance?    Increasing the taxes on the homeonwers to be almost the highest taxes in the whole USA---is THAT indicative of a renaissance?    Huh?

If there's a renaissance, please explain why you are choosing NOT to move into the city when the prices are low and mortgage rates are low?   Huh?

Silly you, ABR.  You need to see it through the rose-colored glasses of DVOR and the other idiots.  That wasn't a drug deal going on in front of your car, that was an expression of free enterprise.  This is what the rebuilding of downtown was meant to bring, and from when I served on a grand jury not too long ago (maybe 2 years), it appears there's a wealth of this type of business going on all throughout the county.

Illegal drug sales are rampant in the city!!! Addicts from all over are told about Schenectady's 'supply'!! THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Schenectady is the hub for drugs!! And they travel far and wide to come here!!! Folks chasing their 'addiction' know they can come to Schenectady to 'meet their needs'!!!!

Hmmmmmm.   DV STILL has not responded with comment on HOW downtown has helped the city.   No response detailing the effect on the TAXABLE tax base.   No response detailing the effect on property values.   No response detailing the effect on the level of city services.   No response detailing the effect on the numbers of vacant houses, no response detailing how quick houses for sale are selling, etc.   No response detailing how many people from outside of the city/county are choosing to buy a house in the city.

I'm dumb?   Gee, I make a statement that since all the tax money has been spent on downtown, AND since the dems have exempt all the millionaires and their for profit businesses from paying proerty taxes I have stated that taxes have risen to almost the highest in the country.  I have stated that property values have plummeted and NECESSARY city services have been reduced.   And for these statements I have provided proof.

So I ask YOU to explain HOW you arrive at the conclusion that the city has improved because of downtown, and for you to state how downtown's changes have increased the TAXABLE tax base, and how downtown's changes have relieved homeowners of unbearable tax burdens; so I ask you to explain, and you have to explanation.

DV, you cannot even post a sentence that would be true.   And so you spend more time writing the comment above then to write something the few words that would be truthful, i.e., "the spending of money on downtown has resulted in increaing a long unbearable tax burden on homeowners in the city."

DV won't answer, discuss, write about, etc when he is unable to provide examples, provide proof, etc of the things he writes.   He can write a personal opinion, but 99.99% of the time he cannot provide support of his opinions with proof.

When he gets backed into a corner so to speak, he responds with obscenities, yawns, and sentences with his buzz words such as ilk, nayboobs, etc.

I can be very civil in asking a question of him.   I could say, "DV, could you please elaborate on how the homeowners city & county tax bills have improved as a result of the work downtown?"  -- you know, ask in a very nice way, and STILL he would not provide an answer other than the usual "crap."
