Now we are emotional? LOL. Systematic rape of the taxpayer through political cronyism always make me calm.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Cars, phones and -- paltry gym memberships are the LEAST we can do to assist them in their jobs.... The Nayboobs are IDIOTS to want to destroy effective policing -- yet they PERSIST in attempting to harm our uniformed First Responders.

Try answering the question Hamburg.....should homeowners lose their homes in order to give expensive  vehicles for police to take pleasure drives to their homes 40 miles away?

Try just answering with a "Yes" or a "No"    (or are you too chicken to answer)

Many of the police officers have 4 year degrees.  You need at least one year to get hired and the average is probably two and one half years.

having a degree doesn't always equate to value....but it does act like a magnet for pay grades......

That's not a jab at police officers.....but of the whole 'rubber stamp' system that we all say "they told me to" and the "ooooh ahhhh, glad the system works, rubber stamp my a$$, please"

someone with a C gets the same diploma as someone with and A.........

City car in the driveway? Better have a reason
Schenectady council chief wants a new look at who should have all-day use

By LAUREN STANFORTH, Staff writer
Published 09:14 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012

SCHENECTADY — After years of on-and-off debate, the City Council is going to investigate how many vehicles city employees take home and what to do about it.

City Council President Denise Brucker has announced she will form a committee that will compile all information about city-owned vehicles and determine if the employees truly need them 24 hours a day for emergencies. Brucker's announcement is an interesting one in that over the years, Schenectady leaders have been timid about suggesting that the use of take-home vehicles, particularly those of police officers, be curtailed.

The topic is being dredged up again as police leaders push to get Chevrolet Tahoes, instead of vans, for three evidence technicians to take home.

Brucker said at Monday night's City Council meeting that take-home cars are the "elephant in the room." "As someone who drives 100 miles a day every day back and forth to work, I understand people finding that distasteful," said Brucker, who herself works in Queensbury at Adirondack Community College.

"There has to be a justification for why that car is parked in your driveway," said Brucker Wednesday. "We need to clear the air on this and make it a policy everyone understands."

She said the committee will include City Council members and perhaps municipal experts from outside Schenectady.........................>>>>......................>>>>.....................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/loca.....15.php#ixzz1kYqyD65n

Kudos to Councilmember Brucker for taking this strong and reasoned stand on the issue.

DV, explain why Brucker take this stand BEFORE January 1, 2012?????????    Well DV?????    Why not???????    Come on, DV, ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!

And why did NOT ONLY Brucker REFUSE to take such a stand BEFORE jAN 1, 2012, why didn't ANY councilmembers, NOR the former council president-turned Mayor McCarthty NOR the former Mayor Stratton took this stand when the council was 1090% democrat????

Amnswer that question DV!!!!!!!    Why didn't NOT ONE SINGLE DEMOCRAT take such action BEFORE Jan 1, 2012?????\

It was RIGGI who raised the question!

So coome on dV, write the sentence.... "Kudos to Brucker for acknowledging that Vince Riggi right to question the mis-use of taxpayer money with these cars."

Please, Brucker would have NEVER taken a stand on this! You know, your 'Working Together" mantra? That translates in the City Council (and the County for that matter) as "don't ask any questions and vote yes on everything...no matter how ridiculous."

FINALLY, Vince Riggi as the voice of reason can make the changes Brucker and Erikson have 'wanted' to do, but their party manta has held them back.

If Vince Riggi was not on this Council, the cops would have gotten their SUV's - no questions asked and more taxpayer money lost.

Agreed.  Vince is just the pressure needed to make these Council people do the right thing.

DV is SO VERY EMBARRASSED that his buddy dems NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER brought this issue up before Vince Riggi raised the question, that DV will REFUSE to answer.

Hew will REFUSE to answer the question WHY they didn't bring it up BEFORE Riggi got on the council.
