Report: Pentagon To Cut $450 Billion
The Pentagon is looking to shrink military spending by $450 billion, below current targets. That will include dropping
to 490,000 troops over the next 10 years. President Obama is expected to unveil the cuts with Defense Secretary
Leon Panetta and Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Thursday.

not a big surprise... we should rely more on the reserves. If you double the money spent on the reserves, you still save a ton against regular enlisted troops. The extra money spent should be on pay and training, because the reserves training is nowhere near as good as the regular army.

Air Force and Naval strength should stay about where they are as it is much more difficult to have a battle ready force with these branches as they are much more dependent on technology.

Good idea, we need to spend more on the aiforce, navy and internet security, while cutting the army and marines. Warfare is changing and we need forces that can get in and OUT quickly. In addition we need to cut spending from all areas of government and the military is no exception.

The Marine Corps historically was a much lighter more mobile force than it is today.  They plan to go back to their former
amphibious, quick deployment 'first in' format.

Obama is obviously de-balling the marines! The best of the best and most certainly most threatening to the government. Just ask a 'serving  marine' and they will confirm!! REALLY!!

But hell.....at least obama said that he will keep the armed forces strength!! HURRAY!

And hey....has Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the muslim responsible for the worst american military attack in history, been tried yet?????

Don't take a rocket scientist here folks!

This "FEAR OF YOUR GOVT" thing is really funny to watch.  Every action can be reduced to how it will impact our own
govt attacking it's citizens.

The definition of
PARANOIA:
1.  Psychiatry . a mental disorder characterized by systematized delusions and the projection of personal conflicts,
which are ascribed to the supposed hostility of others, sometimes progressing to disturbances of consciousness
and aggressive acts believed to be performed in self-defense or as a mission
.

2.  baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of others.

I realize that paranoia is not recognized by those who are suffering from it, but this "mass paranoia" that infiltrates
certain political agendas should be visible to others in the group.
