The 2012 Presidential Campaign has officially begun and today's focus is on the Iowa Caucuses.  

Just some random thoughts ---

If Romney is the odds on favorite to be the GOP nominee - how come 75% of Republicans want someone else to run?    It isn't as if Romney is unknown or has no track record.   My advice to the Republican Party, if your front-runner stinks like  fish that was left out in the sun too long,  pick someone else .. don't think you can repackage Romney and make him suddenly attractive to a majority of Americans.   You tried that with McCain and where did it lead you?

If the Republican party is supposed to be the party of American values - how could they possibly consider Newt Gingrinch as a serious candidate for ANYTHING ?   The guy resigned as Speaker of the House in disgrace after he was caught being corrupt,  he took hundreds of thousands of dollars "lobbying-but-not-really-being-legally-registered-lobbyist" for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and he has this thing for divorcing wives when they get ill or otherwise burdensome to him  ----  is this the kind of values we want in our next president?

Why is it that Republican voters seem to overlook the more qualified, most reasonable and (from what I can tell) the most sane potential presidential candidates ??     I think Huntsman or Santorum would at least make decent electable presidential candidates  ...

by the way --- I am going out and predicting that Santorum or Huntsman will do well in Iowa .. surprising the pollsters and  .. maybe just maybe ... one of them will end up on the GOP ticket in the fall.

Once again... it's some one else's fault.  It's the media?  You are blaming the messenger.  All "MEDIA" is not alike.
When I see a report on FoxSnooze, I assume it's half true, false or propaganda.  When I read or watch something
on PBS or NPR, I assume that it's likely true, or as close as it gets to being consistently true.

YOU choose which media to read, or watch... so if the MEDIA you buy is not accurate, change where you get
your news.

If you consider Ambush O'keefe to be a "JOURNALIST  or a FILMMAKER", then there is no point in even continue
reading the rest of the piece.

You can't deny what Schiller and Liley said and that proves to me that NPR is as bias as any other news media including Fox so don't use NPR as an honest fair truthful media outlet because they aren't.

As I posted... I didn't read beyond "conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe".  If that is your source... I have no
confidence any of it is true.  He's a proven scam artist, who practices ambush with a camera.  I doubt anything
that he's involved with.

I'll bet you really hated hearing the bias comments coming right out of their own mouths, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Mr. Santorum won the Iowa Caucus IMHO  -- even though he came in 2nd by 8 votes -- and should focus on campaigning in South Carolina.   Romney has never done well in Southern primaries or caucuses.   If Santorum can beat Romney in South Carolina --- Romney should pack it in and head back to one of his homes.

Funny, substitute a couple names/words and you've got the sentiment in the last Town Supervisor/Board election.

Back in 1992 in Iowa, 97% of democrats didn't want Bill Clinton (3% in fourth place) and look what happened.??? Iowa, other than being first in line, historically means nothing... Mike Huckabee won in 2008, McCain was fourth and ended up winning the nomination.

If you knew anything about primary politics, you would know South Carolina is the true Republican bellwether. No republican has won the nomination without winning the SC primary. I expect Romney wins SC as a result of Rick Perry continuing to run and dividing the conservative vote with Newt and Rick Sanatorium.

Romney has the best organization than any other pub candidate nationally. This race will be over by Florida, if not the day after SC.

If Romney has the best organization and the most money --- how come he couldn't rise above 25% in Iowa ?   Everyone thinks that Gene McCarthy beat Lyndon Johnson in New Hampshire in 1968 -- when in fact Johnson actually won more votes ... but McCarthy won enough votes to show that Johnson was in trouble.  In Iowa,  Santorum and Paul showed that not only is Romney in trouble ... Romney is UNELECTABLE.


I know an awful lot about presidential politics and elections --- Iowa and New Hampshire are not necessarily good indicators of who will win the nomination or who will win the election.

Personally, I think the media is biased to support Romney --  I think Ron Paul and Rick Santorum have never gotten the kind of "puff" coverage that Romney has gotten.   Romney can refuse to be interviewed and get away with it --- Paul and Santorum and the others have been out there actually answering questions.

BTW -- since Romney flips flops so much on the issues -- which Mitt Romney are people going to get if he is nominated  and  if he is elected ????  

Personally, I like Senator Santorum for being consistently pro-life when it comes to abortion -- and I happen to like his idea for cutting taxes on American manufacturers in order to create jobs and revive our economy here.    Also, I think that Santorum represents the average middle class American better than most of the other GOP candidates.
