What is the real story here is how the gazetto uses the word 'SLIGHT'. Kinda like it's 'ok'!! Let be reminded how the gazetto lied about Glenville's so called vote on raising taxes over the tax cap. That was never true!!!

But hell.......the gazetto ain't slanted!!

The Gazette will get it when the subscriptions that are left get dropped.  The people will make cuts to make up the increase in fees.  That will be one of them.  The will go to the council meetings to get warm.  The horde is coming.  Will McCarthy get fat, grey or both over the next few years.  The phones are gonna be ringing.  Will sound like a march of dimes telethon in city hall.   Hahahahahaha.  DVR, go eat something.

Schenectady County taxes are 4X HIGHER than Saratoga County and 3X Albany County. A zero increase is really a 1.5% increase in the highest County taxes. They still haven't even budgeted for the new County Home that they approved 2 years ago. Of course they said construction won't cost a penny and some Stockholm Syndrome victims actually believed it! Keep the implosion going!

Have you heard of architectural plans idiot? You know like in the facade program where $4 million was budgeted and only $2.6 million spent on actual facades.

You are exactly correct. These dimwits wouldn't know what a  5 year plan was if it hit them square in the face!!! ALL successful businesses/corporations have a 5 year plan. And they budget for it.

And as far as the gazetto......people are already cutting back. Some folks 'share' one subscription. Especially the seniors!! And for the ones that just won't pay for it anymore because they don't think it's newsworthy...they will glance at it at work or at a diner.

Reason I asked about the next bond rating is that a slight downgrade in the bond rating would mean just a slight increase in the amount of Interest the City of Schenectady pays on its bonds.  Not sure what the amount of debt is that Schenectady now holds but it must be more than $100,000,000.  An slight downgrade would mean a slight increase in Interest payments of $1,200,000 to $2,200,000.  SLIGHTLY BIGGER HOLE IN THE BUDGET.

Remember folks, alot of Schenectadys Debt is at a Variable Rate.........Good luck with that...

From Comptrollers website.
