TIBbets they already were audited... perhaps you should read the audit and learn a thing or two
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. They were audited. I read the whole thing and the Metroplex half azzed response. It proved that it is bleeding and the Metroplex board response shows that they are arrogant and/or ignorant to the fact. There aren't enough auditors in the country to audit the Authorities in the State.
The Authority is an utouchable class of organizations above even that of the city.
Pensions were obviously padded by the city. Cities and other municipalities are much more regulated by the state than Authorities and nothing was done. The state is cutting back to the bone. Fraud and crappy deals are rampant. For this reason they go unchecked.
The audit of Metroplex was poorly done, poorly followed up on and since there is no means and measures to show the results of the Metroplex "Investments" it is left unchecked.
Look at Proctors financials......worse after Metroplex involvement. Parker in.......done Muddy Cup......done Cornells...... done Van Dyck......done Gillete House......done
Smoker. Perhaps you should reread the audit or take a few finance, business law and ethics classes before you read it. It is probably over your head.

Schenectady meeting will address little park's fate By Lauren Stanforth Published 05:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012
SCHENECTADY — Liberty Park, the tiny tree-filled area between State Street and Washington Avenue that greets travelers coming into the city from Scotia, got a face-lift 12 years ago.
But the city will field questions about what to do with the public land at a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schenectady County Community College's Stockade Hall.
The city is once again focusing on the area as SCCC is completing its new student housing next to the park and the $13.5 million reconstruction of nearby Erie Boulevard should begin this summer.......................>>>>.....................>>>>.....................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/loca.....11.php#ixzz1xCIRRAxr

Metrograft is now devolved into parks? Disgusting! Metrograft was created to increase sales taxes-FAILED and improve Downtown property values-TOTAL FAILURE. Right Brian? Not create bum parks and flush more money at a beanery. Until the DEM morons finally close the Y housing nothing will improve on Desolation Boulevard {Lower State} no matter how much "planning" failed Nisky DEM chair Death Ray does. Bring back McCheese to the Metrograft moron bored. Then he can create more jobs- lol.
all our problems will be solved if they tax and spend more
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
I could see them expanding it into other areas so that they can use the current park as a base for a footbridge over the road.......

A nice secluded spot for the non-tax paying vagrants, YMCA tenants and people in the bus terminal to urinate.
Wonder how the men living at the YMCA and the sex offenders surrounding the new dorms will get along with the co-eds? One of the WORST locations for a dorm right in the middle of convicts. Why don't you just send your graduates to Syria......
SCHENECTADY Grant could make ugly park a centerpiece for development BY BETHANY BUMP Gazette Reporter
The Metroplex Development Authority’s board of directors accepted a $50,000 grant Wednesday from the Capital District Transportation Committee for the redesign of Liberty Park on lower State Street, opposite Schenectady County Community College. Metroplex will provide a $20,000 match to help fund the first of two phases for the redesign, which isn’t expected to get under way until a consultant is chosen and three public hearings are held.
soooooooooooooooo, has the $70K been spent yet? Did they chose a consultant? How many public hearings have been held? Or will Tuesday's be the first at SCCC be the first?
And another question here..........why are these public hearings not being held at the city hall?????

If it is not obvious to all now, it should/will be in the ensuing months that the PLEX/CTY.LEG. is running the show. With the council/town boards merely rubber stamping/doing the formalities of the decided upon courses of action. Witness the $4 million grant from the state to the city for the ALCO cleanup. Recently it was awarded to the City of Sch'dy. It merely passed through the city hands, with not a dime for the city, and onto the PLEX/Galesi for there dispersement at the site. The city doing the paperwork for receivership and then it's passing on. In regard to the park. The city is broke so the PLEX must intercede to protect it's current investments (SCCC, and the recently constructed dorms. albeit they are privately owned the county still has it's students located there.) So wherever or whatever the PLEX has to do it will protect it's investment. And after this year when the YMCA residents are relocated, this will be 1 more step toward that end. Then the purchasing of all the delapidated bldgs. will begin in that area. Much like what was done in the downtown proper. For example, where Hampton Inn is and the various props. across the street, and the infamous Big House. What's of concern, or should be is of potential overpayment for those properties along State St. from the #200's on down as improvments are made below those #'s, as they advance up to the #200's. Once you have a nice redeveloped property surrounded by slums it's only natural to assume the PLEX $$$ will be a flyin for those eyesores. It's imperative to protect the invested monies. So envy who are "sitting" on those sites. Wait for it. P.S. The PLEX now has control over the old AAA bldg. on Railroad Ave.
