SUGGESTION:  Start a POLL and see how the results come out.  Even with the rest of your "alter-ego posse" it won't help.

We already had the poll.  The guy is disrespected and rightly so.  He can't have it both ways.  Either he is one of the only few Democrats on this board or they also don't respect him.

Anyone do facebook.  I think we may be able to take some of these issues to that forum to get more exposure.  We could use the same Userid names and create groups.  Unless someone knows how to do it here.  DVR, Scotsdog08 and the Smoker are experts at burying these important things that need to be followed up on continually.  The resturants reviews is an example.

Bottomline -- keeping the AAA call center Downtown is a GREAT move   ...........  buying the old AAA building for the next new development in Downtown Schenectady is another GREAT move.

The      B ... they have been lying and plotting for so long -- they assume everyone else does it, too.

Really?   We are lying?????    Explain DV, HOW, explain HOW we are lying when we provide UNDISPUTABLE, UNDENIABLE PROOF to support what we say.

A lie would be something that could NOT be substantiated with documentation, with proof.

Truth tellers provide proof.   Since we provide proof, that means we are the truth tellers.

Those who do not provide proof are the liars.

And of course, DV, since you NEVER provide proof, no links to official records, then that proves YOU a LIAR

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Within the next 4 years, we will see new investments in the "triangle" between State Street, Erie Blvd and Washington Ave. which will bring life to an area that has been underutilized since at least the early 1970's (aproximately when Barney's closed  AND will see new investments in projects in the area between Union Street and Nott Street that will connect  "College Park" with the rest of Downtown.  This is a great time to be a resident and property owner in Schenectady County ---- "and the Renaissance goes on ... and the the Renaissance goes on ..."

Spending the taxpayer money = Renaissance or Rebirth.  Does that mean rebirth of cash into Galesi's bank account?  Now that makes sense.

How is taking another building Downtown permanently off the City tax rolls a good move? A total waste of County taxpayer funds. No new jobs created. Room for more dorms that we don't need. Another parking lot or Gillen's Gulch II. Another payoff to fill the vast emptiness of Death Ray's white elephant Center City. DVR has alot of nerve to mention College Park. That area was another slum until Union College invested $26 MILLION in private funds to turn it around. Further proof that Metrograft should be abolished, that its stooge bored is out of ideas and that Death Ray must be sent packing.

I mean really DVR, do you think we are just gonna sit by and watch this city be Occupied and driven into the ground?  I am not affiliated with any party, I am not an occupier, I am not with the so called Tea Party.  I am a father, a husband and an owner of alot of property in the city.  I took no handouts and didn't inherit my property.

Sooner than later, us Nayboobs will be getting together and will be organizing. We wont be occupying.  The city is already "occupied" by a bunch of part-timers.  They/you don't live and breath this city.  We Nayboobs do!  We are awake now.  Get ready because you and your boyfriends are going to have to show up for work or you will be relentlessly exposed for your stupidity, your one sided senseless deals.

Tax bills are coming out soon...
Moody will be rating the city financials again soon....
Riggi will be getting his paws on the details and asking the questions all the Nayboobs want to know.....

Not gonna be pretty

The DEM death grip on the City was broken in November. Let the DEM morons keep wondering what hit them. The residents have had enough of pension padding, hiring incompetents, lies about job creation, crime and the worst taxes in Upstate NY. Vince Riggi has the support of all residents to fight the corruption and idiotic spending schemes that pass for moron progress.

My math is probably screwed up so maybe I can get some help.
(1) Metroplex approved an $84,000 grant Wednesday to help the company with the cost of relocating....so this is basically funding to move them and paying for the infrastructure for their operation....AAA, a private industry being paid funding to do something that if they paid it themselves would be a tax write-off

(2) The company also plans to lease 50 parking spaces from Metroplex, which will in turn provide Metroplex with a recurring revenue stream. ....as has been pointed out, what is the cost that AAA will pay versus what the city would have realized in revenue

(3) “Our project, if done correctly, will pay back in many ways,” said Gillen.......great statement, but no substance to say how that will happen and just exactly what is the payback....and what is meant by "if done correctly"...is that a escape clause for failure?

(4) “The $84K we are giving in grants we will recover fairly quickly from the parking fees. So as we move these people downtown, we create more parking revenue for ourselves.".....Giving $84k in grants, reserving 50 parking spots, create more parking revenue??????  What kind of double talk is that????

(5) Metroplex will pay $138,000 toward the $175,000 purchase price of the existing Railroad Street building .....and the other $37K???? What does this mean?

So at the end of the day, Plex spends $222k to buy property that was on the tax rolls, but now wil lbe off the tax rolls
Plex removes 50 parking spots from public revenue stream
AAA moves into office space in a building that already is on the tax rolls, so AAA is leasing space and result is no contribution to tax roll
If Plex did not do all this, AAA may have moved out of Schdy, but how does this have a negative impact on the tax rolls?  Other than spending payroll checks downtown (likely meals only and maybe Villa Italia pastries)
If AAA moved, they stil had the old property they would ahve to continue paying taxes on until they could find a buyer to unload it

Like I said my math is not great, but none of this seems like a sensible business move on the part of the Plex..........IMHO

Another business who supposedly loves the Schenectady location, at the right price.    Can't blame them for playing one area against the other.   They, like all other business here have the Plex right where they want them-desperate.   And when you negotiate out of desperation, you usually get the short straw.   So heads, AAA wins, Tails, taxpayers lose.
