All the 'occupiers' going down to GE when they could simply be knocking at the doors at City Hall. If you HAVE a current, paying position in the government (elected or not), then all other governmental pensions should cease.
I'll expand on this, I know many a retired teacher working as a substitute in the school systems...receiving retirement benefits, healthcare AND getting paid for 180+ days of working as a substitute.
Taxpayers money is not an eternal spring. There is little to any responsibility taken when our money is being used in pensions, healthcare and retirement for all government and district workers. It has to stop. |

Does the Sch'dy Police Dept. Commisioner (Mr. Bennett) have the same situation? Or was his public to public?
I don't know his situation and - quite frankly - I really don't care one way or the other. There are a lot more important things on my mind than how many pensions someone is making in either the private and/or the public system. And as I have said previously -- if you teaparty/NNTP Know-Nothing Republican hypocrites REALLY believed it was wrong to "double dip" than you would be going after YOUR OWN man -- Senator Hugh Farley - who collects 2 state pensions and 1 state salary ( 1 pension as a retired SUNY Professor, 1 pension as a retired SUNY administrator and 1 salary as State Senator ----- not to mention that for over 25 years he collected 3 FT State Salaries at the same time ---- and collected the LULUS and extra money for TAXPAYER FUNDED VACATIONS to Hawaii and Disney World ------------------- oh and did I mention that he got his son, Bob Farley, TWO jobs at the State Senate while Bob Farley was also pulling down a living as an attroney on the outside and collecting pay as a County Legislator.). |

For Hugh Farley, would that be a pension from the NYS Employees Retirement System? |

Wouldn't this be one of those horrible unfunded mandates that your girlfriend kept blaming the high cost of the county budget on before she was whisked away to a new taxpayer funded job? |

I agree with Visitor. Besides, it is perfectly legal. There are many people who retire from private sector jobs and start a second career in the private sector WHILE COLLECTING A PENSION. Many service men and women work long enough to retire from the military and then work in either the public or private sector -- should they be vilified for "double dipping" ?
If anyone doesn't like it, they could petition and work to have the law changed.

Great review. They are losing $200,000 a week and don't know how to stem the bleeding. Hire 22 more City employees and sell the traffic department on Albany St. That should turn it around. God bless them everyone. |

Well well well, yet ANOTHER username created by DV. DV is so desprate that he has create additional usernames just to insure that another username states the same opinion he has. And the PROOF that he is all one and the same is that ALL the "aka" names are EXACTLY the same as when he's on as DV. NONE of them ever provides proof of whta they state, no documentation, no links to official sources. But then, maybe no links have been provided because DV doesn't even know how to do a link just like he doesn't know how to post the Christmas songs. DV, you do know that you have no credibility by virtue of your total refusal to provide any proof; But when you create another username, just make sure you keep track of what each one says, as you clearly are saying the same thing under various names. Writing styles, punctuations, cliches, etc, they all originate from the same ONE person---YOU |

Funny think. The New York State Comptroller's Office doesn't have record of Farley (Hugh) getting a pension in the state retirement system (none of the several systems). Only his legislative salary....and just remember DV, that BY LAW that IS public information. So, since DV claims it is so, I'm sure he will want to provide proof, because IF what he says is indeed true, well, that IS public information and it IS readily avilable to all of us in a matter of a few minutes. So, if DV doesn't post the proof, then we know either he is lying or he is too dumb to know how to find the info. By the way, much as we don't like it, ALL legilators get "lulu's" And they all get per-dieums as well. And I trust that you know about your two legislators, not from this area, but dum socilists like yourself who are scamming the taxpayers more than any. Greg Floyd on Channel 6 has been doing quite the story on them. So, where is your proof, DV???? Huh???? Let me guess, becuase DV can't provide proof which proves him a liar, he will just post one of his usual "GFY" responses. Just remember what username you use to post a comment |

AND for your info, because you do knoew have the intelligence, the younger Farley was NOT getting paid via taxcpayer dollars while owning a law firm. Public employees may have second jobs in the private sector as long as it doesn't cause a conflict of interest---uh, that's mean doing the private work on the state clock, but rather, in the case of an attorney it would be a conflict to be employed by a firm that has issues with the state. More easily said would be if one is an attorney in the health dept within the area that regulates hospitals, but then also works as an attorney for a firm that specializes in malpractice. But of course, DV wouldn't knoiw about these things. So DV, let's see your links to offical records to make your fairytales into real facts |
