Actually, if you were to add the numbers, Schdy got $958,824.50.....that is not "almost several hundred thousand dollars to be exact"....more like close to a million! But a far cry from what they could have gotten if they had submitted more attractive plans.

Metroplex does not have the know how to put together such a plan together. This is proof positive as the ENTIRE County received $1 million, yet just the Troy parking garage received more money!  

The entire Capital District has to stop competing with itself because it's bad for the economy, bad for job creation and it's a waste of the taxpayer money going into the 4 or 5 different "Authorities". For every business which received a Metroplex grant, there was another Capital District county which obtained more jobs from the same company (Madison Handbags comes to mind).

Fact is, the Authorities are so blind to see how for-profit businesses are making money off of them instead of making money actually SELLING things.

That's why unemployment and taxes are the highest here. They helped us enough by promoting Stratton and Savage out of town. They tried to help but yous keep voting DEM moron. Troy got twice as much for one parking garage as this entire County received. Another great job by County leaders! Got Trustco HQ?

Sorry SB, you're wrong on this one. The Council's were formed to create plans which would bring innovation and job growth to their designated areas. McCarthy was on the Capital District Council which did not come up with a good plan to earn even a speck of the $785 million.

Western NY was awarded over $100 million for the following:

"$1 million to renovate long-vacant and deteriorated properties"

"$4 million to enable a major project to strategically connect five downtown districts of Buffalo. This project will reestablish high quality multi-modal transporation"

Also, millions went to local colleges for tourism, laboratory growth..etc.

The Capital Region is NOT WORKING TOGETHER as the DEMS always tout. The City wasn't even smart enough to realize that Union could have been part of this plan.

Now if this money was awarded to districts on how well they can rip off the retirement and pension system, Schenectady would have won HANDS DOWN!

Why don't you prove it an go away.  The site would flourish without you.  Besides, the restruaunts would do better if you are on the computer less.  You obviously eat enough to support a whole village of eateries.

I eat 1200 calories a day --- even on those days when go out to eat.  The fact is that it is very possible to go out to eat at a restaurant and eat a very healthy - low calorie - meal.
