The DEM morons have been pushing this insane Erie Blvd project for years with no results. This will not cost the local taxpayers a PENNY. Over a million-YES? Every business is against it. They continue to beat a dead jack a** to help contributors. GE workers need to quickly exit the County. They don't want narrowed lanes and boulevards.

Where are they getting the $$$$ from now for 'this project'? I thought they were going to use the grant money for Erie that was originally allocated for the Hamilton Hill area.....yes? Hasn't that grant money vanished?

The City can easily siphon grant money to connected Plex friends with an Erie Blvd project. The railroad would involve those not 'working together' to decimate the City taxbase.

My bet is that Erie will have another $100 million poured into it with zero retail and all the Downtown State street businesses will 'relocate'.

After all, Transfinders headquarters was at Erie Blvd for years....it only moved around the block.

It will be another shell game, tax-exempt businesses and another 4 years of ignoring the neighborhoods.

Of course the Republicans/NNTP-Alliance will criticize EVERY good idea that the Democrats put forward.    These are the same nayboobs who follow Rush Limbaugh and want President Obama to fail so that their party can be returned  to office.   The ONLY THING that motivates the Republicans/NNTP-Alliance Party is seizing political and economic power BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY .. so that they can impose their oppressive regime upon those they look down on -- which is EVERYBODY ELSE in society.

You are correct! And folks should look into that grant money that was allocated for Hamilton Hill, which I believe was approved by Hillary Clinton....correct me if my mind is incorrect. Well Hamilton Hill never saw the light of day with even $1 of that grant. Stratton was just going to redirect it for the big ERIE BLVD revamp.

Again............screw the residents!!

It gets tiring listening to the nayboobs whine and cry.  They (Republicans) screwed up Schenectady and New York State and the nation --- and now they like a bunch of spoiled dirty diaper babies sitting on the OUTSIDE looking in.  Just tune out the nayboobs and keep moving our communities, our state and our nation FORWARD in progress.

Your description of FORWARD...is raping the taxpayers with corrupt and mishandling of monies....

And the Dems are the offenders....we are talking about now.....not the past.... look forward....you forget the past and
move on.

I remember the beautiful train station we had.....also saw Truman in person the year he was campaigning...
standing at the end car....and waving ....we were all cheering...it was my first glimpse of a candidate for President..
..all school children from NOTT TERRACE ELEM had the time off to see history in the making.  Now that's the past..
..Owen M Begley was Mayor...and I didn't know  what party he was affiliated  with....and at that time, didn't care...

..Please don't bring up anything about politics in that Era       ...

Pleasant memories of a pleasant innocent time......

According to their website:
"Federally Funded Project
The Erie Blvd Project is a Federally Funded Project and these funds are the result of hard work from our City officials and The Schenectady Metroplex. The funds for this project can only be used on this project and if they are not used on this project they will be returned and then given to another project in some City other than Schenectady."

Too bad they left out the part about how much of the City taxpayers money needs to be used to keep the grant. Believe it's about $300K

Also, Bumble is on the right track here. Wasn't this initially a grant for the Hill?

Wonder how much of this grant will fund the ALCO Condos? A few million probably....

Rebuild Erie Blvd -- ASAP --- it will look great if they can put an actual boulevard/divider back in .. and also improve traffic patterns.

I thought that money(Hamilton Hill grant) had to be used by a certain date or it would be retracted. I guess someone should look to see if that grant even still exists.  I believe it was supposed to be an 'urban renewal' grant specific to Hamilton Hill.

Good! Give it back! The business community and City taxpayers cannot afford another $1 million for this crap. They can't even afford to knock down one of 800 abandoned homes/businesses. Metrograft/DEM morons have tried repeatedly to push this through and it has no support. Other than a few usual suspects from the DEM friends and family club.
