Eric Ely may be moving again
Ex-Schenectady schools superintendent, now in Boston, a finalist in Ohio

By SCOTT WALDMAN, Staff writer
Published 09:40 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011

He's on the move, again.

Former Schenectady schools superintendent Eric Ely was practically run out of town on a rail after his role in the Steve Raucci terror trial.

He was accused of tipping off the former custodial boss to an investigation and was supportive of Raucci even as he terrorized numerous district employees. The district has already paid out at least $250,000 to settle lawsuits filed in relation to Raucci's tenure.

The controversy stuck to Ely during a job search in which he was knocked out of the finalist pool in a number of districts across the country. He finally landed a job in the Southbridge School District outside of Boston in August 2010.

Now, Ely is looking to return to his home state of Ohio. He is one of 12 finalists for the superintendent's job in the Pickerington Local School District, according to a report in a local community newspaper.......................>>>>.........................>>>>...................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Eric-Ely-may-be-moving-again-2339192.php#ixzz1fN472vpz

These guys always land on their feet. No matter how bad a job they do, some other district somewhere snaps them up like they are solid gold. I have no idea why this should be so.

As long as he is not our problem anymore, who cares where Ely goes.

He never was "your problem," but you were defending him to the death before, if I remember correctly...  How much is your yearly bill for school taxes at Schenectady High School on the property you own / rent?  Maybe people here would like to send a note to the school looking to hire him about what happened here.

It is obvious that you are chronic liar -- because I NEVER defended Ely --- NEVER.

I guess you didn't, and I apologize. It appears that you were not a member of the board back at the time that this was brought up.  Oh, the days of this board before your buffoonery was driving us all crazy.  I mean 7300+ posts.  I guess I just sort of figured it went back farther.  It really feels like it did.  Must be nice to be able to sit on here and post that much.

my business interests keep me on the computer at all hours of the day --- this website is merely an "occasional distraction" .. for a few minutes every so often during my long work day.

Eric Ely, former Schenectady schools superintendent, may be on the move again.

He is one of four finalists to lead the Dracut, Mass., school district, according to the Valley Dispatch newspaper. It said school leaders are expected to make their selection by July 1, the same day the current school chief takes a new job.

Ely is currently school leader in Southbridge, Mass. He and the three other finalists must still be further vetted.............................>>>>..........................>>>>.................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/loca.....20.php#ixzz1xITQPnvQ

Vetted?  If he's made it this far, he hasn't been, yet.

I'm sure Southbridge is not sad to see him go.

As long as the residual damage that his regime left behind exists, probably for years, despite the obvious PR surface feelgoods currently being portrayed to the public, it WILL be a problem.   It is within the historical records now for future vetting by potential homeowners with children.   They can judge for themselves once their vetting of the past begins.   And can determine if it's worth their investment of the parents/childs time to consider locating here.

So, you are saying that the FACT, the INDISPUTABLE FACT that YOUR BUDDY DEMS are giving him a STAR exemption ILLEGALLY is not our problem, right?

Answer?????

No answer to that?????       Huh??????

Gee, I'd think that since you claim to go to city hall, that you would go visit McC and tell him that he is allowing Ely to rip off the taxpayers in the city.

Oh by the way, how about Morris getting a STAR exemption ILLEGALLY too????    Huh?    Go anything to say about that???????      Didn't think so.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
