S-- lets create real jobs and a tax base. ...Congratulations are in order for the ... Metroplex  ...

"real" jobs???????

A bunch of low wage retail jobs is a good thing?

Just like well over $100 million of taxpayer money was used for downtown which resulted in a bunch of poverty wage jobs.   And transferred a few hundred long EXISTING jobs (state employees) to downtown--employees who flee the city at the end of the workday, employees who are not in the least little bit interested in buying a house in the city, and probably will be leaving downtown in the not too distant future.  Those employees were at Wolf Rd, then went to Holland Ave (when Encon went to Wolf Rd), then that Transportation office, the main one, left the state campus and moved to Wolf Rd.  Since Transportation Department owns 50 Wolf Rd and since the place is half empty and since the state is NEEDLESSLY paying rent to some political hack for State & Broadway, and since the state is expecting to see a big deficit again, and since most of the stuff they do in downtown Schdy is largely a duplicate of work done on Wolf Rd, it will be the best decision to take them out of Schdy and save the state taxpayers money.

So keep on cheering for low pay jobs and high taxes in Schenectady

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Don't even waste your time responding to this sock puppet. If things are so peachy why don't they buy? The good news is half the City residents have eyes wide open. Nisky and Rott also need the Alliance Party.

Quoted from Tommy
It should also be noted that he built the western portion (the hard part) of the first transcontinental railroad which changed America forever, and was the one who drove "the golden spike" in Promontory, Utah on May 10, 1869 thus marking it's completion.

He also founded Stanford University.
Hey, that whole area is named "Stanford Heights", after him.

Few people have had such a positive effect on the United States as he.

It shouldn't be a "local" landmark, it should be a "national" landmark.

The man was quite remarkable.

Leland Stanford did NOT found Stanford University -- his widow did.  It is named for their son --- and you should learn to NOT trust everything written in Wikipedia ... it is notorious for being incorrect.

So Leland's wife created a college using her hated husbands money.  She hated him so much that she named a college after her hated husbands last name but said it was for her son. Great move.  Makes sense.  I believe you though since you were probably attending a ball at their house when Mrs. STANFORD made the decision.

Notice how he and his invisible friend both called a great and pioneering railroad man a "robber baron." I suppose if they waited 100 years for the bureaucracy to build it with union labor it would have been better... what a gigantic DH this clown is. Yeah, tear it down. If the people of that town don't care about their history why should anyone... With this dictatorship, the fix is in everywhere.

Leland and Metroplex have alot in common.  Abusing someone to accomplish something.

Without Leland Stanford,  there may not have been an ALCO or a GE in Schenectady.

She wanted the fortune that her husband made (through nefarious means) to be used for GOOD ---  and she also wanted to memorialize her late son --- and duh .. her late son was Leland Stanford Jr.   ...  funny how most sons share the same last name with their father (which is something you may not be familiar with).

Your mean. I don't know who my daddy is.  That's why I moved to Schenectady. Duh.  That and the free breakfasts and lunches year round....hahahaha.  I wish you were my grandma.  Your the smartest.  So witty. Cuddly.

Actually - ALCO -- American Locomotive Company grew out of the Schenectady Locomotive Company and PREDATED the Leland Stanford and the Transcontinental Railroad.    When John Ellis (Ellis Mansion now St John's rectory and Ellis Hospital is named for him)  was president of Schenectady Locomotive,  he made two very wise business decisions -----
#1)  Ellis  hired an excellent engineer from I believe Scotland (someone who had designed and worked on locomtives in Europe) who actually came up with the design for what became known as the American Locomotive.  This locomotive was ground breaking in that it could pull more than 1 or 2 cars AND it could reach a running speed of -at that time unheard of - 45 MPH.
#2) Ellis - believing that a Civil War was imminent - had his workmen build MORE of these new locomotives than were actually ordered --- and began building up a surplus of them.   When the Civil War did actually begin (about 2 years later), American Locomotive was the only company with enough locomotives on hand to fill the Federal/Union government's order ... and thus American Locomotive sold ALL of its surplus American Locomotives and got a big contract to continue producing more throughout the war.  That made ALCO stockholders and Ellis very wealthy.

Stanford was obviously an early negative nayboober. He was a job creator, inventor and risk taker. With his money not the taxpayers. DVR and his many aliases only supports crony socialists. Rotsa Ruck with Petta's move to Downtown on the taxpayers nickle- lol.

They should move the Stanford Mansion between the Gazetto and the pollution plant. Plenty of room over there where they clear cut hundreds of trees on Anthony St. Then you can run over there on his lunch break. After reporting on the bull fight.

With sales tax revenues up - that means that Metroplex's portion of the tax is up - which means there will be MORE money to invest in various places in Schenectady County.  Metroplex is doing an awesome job.
