This can't be true...we have the Metroplex that is saving us.  Plus, things are WONDERFUL in all of Schenectady...  sorry, think my reality check just bounced.

And this should surprise who?
Any jobs that are downtown are not NEW jobs. They are either state government transplanted workers, or tax paid relocated county businesses!! If there was a net gain at all....it was minimal at best. Not to mention the revenue lost on all of the vacant homes.

There were 400 job losses in one year. According to the State not some DEM sock puppet. The Gazetto went along with the DEM lies and listed announced jobs not actual jobs. As Election Day got closer the DEM frauds kept adding to their imaginary job "created" list. Real Joseph Goebbels stuff. As if high taxes can create any jobs except jobs for foreclosure attorneys. New low in resale values, new highs in foreclosure and unemployment. Keep the DEM implosion going! Metrograft is a complete failure at both job creation and property value stabilization.

OK, DV and SB and GG, and Scots.....please explain this.   Please explain how you claim the dems have created jobs when the PROOF shows otherwise.   WHERE is the documentation to support the statements you made?

They can't refute official State statistics. All they can do to repeat insane DEM talking points handed them by Lumpy and Dumpy. The DEMS LOST jobs. Over the past year. Over the past six years. The DEMS sent out 6 mailers lying about creating 3,500, then 4,000 and finally 5,000 Downtown jobs. That's why the unemployment rate Downtown is over 20%. The worst part are their running dogs in the press that lack the backbone to tell the truth BEFORE the election. After the election the Gazetto editors bought up the mud thrown by Petta and McCarthy. Little late boys.

Schenectady County created Metrograft to create jobs, stabilize property values and increase sales tax generation. It has failed at all 3 goals. Instead of having an open process that values public participation Death Ray favors his way or the highway approach. He is the worst planner in New York State and should have been fired after lying about Robinson's Mall to the DEMS on the City Council. This County raised its own sales taxes to give to wealth developers to improve facades on their buildings that have never ending PILOTS. But the problem is Union College- lol.

Schenectady's 6.9% unemployment rate looks pretty good compared to the rest of the country.

This is a huge unemployment rate for schenectady considering that the metroplex promised lower taxes an NEW JOBS over a decade ago!! Taxes have gone UP and jobs are just 'transplanted' ones.

Not to mention the total decline in living conditions in the city. Coupled with vacant homes and homes that have devalued steadily! If the metroplex were that successful and the jobs were plentiful, and the school system was above substandard and the crime and gangs were not rampant, people should be banging down schenectady's doors to be a part of this wonderful bustling city and homes would be at a premium price..........NOT!
