The government made the incandescent extinct so we all have to buy the more expensive energy efficient mercury filled ones and when one should break you have to call hazmat to clean the broken bulb up. That sounds like a real savings to me, not.

I saw that on the news a while ago. This is one way the government props up their businesses of choice. They prop them up with mandates/grants/tax credits.....then their stocks go up!

Can anybody say....'INSIDER TRADING'!

Funny you mention this...I was talking to a co-worker today, and they asked me if I used the energy saver bulbs with the mercury in them.  When I said yes, they said you may want to think twice if you have children.  The person's 3 year old was throwing their toys in the air and his a light fixture with one of these bulbs in it, and it broke and the small pieces of glass and mercury fell on the child.  Now she has to worry about if her child will have developmental problems and other health concerns from possibly ingesting or inhaling the mercury powder. Needless to say, anyone with with small children should be removing these from their light fixtures where there children play.

The fact the government wants to force these toxic bulbs onto us is proof they don't care about our children's health.  It's all about extorting money from the taxpayer to give to their crony capitalists in the Green Energy Business.

Maybe a Republican can propose legislation banning these dangerous bulb from daycare centers and schools because of the harm it can cause the children.  If anybody votes against it, they can play the "you must want children to die" card.

And I wonder, are we really saving energy by using them?  I mean, if you calculate the amount of energy that it costs to transport them across the sea, how many hours of saving energy using the bulb to replace the amount of energy spent shipping it?  Also, the same goes for electric / hybrid cars.  I heard that you have to drive a hybrid for 100K miles before there is ANY savings for the environment.  And by that point, it's most likely on it's second or third owner, so the original owner DIDN'T help save the environment AT ALL!

oh brother...
a new building yes ,we need more room, build an extention, a colorful palace, spare no expense now.....
New cars, New buildings.
Something we can all be proud of.
Our shining white knights, to protect and serve,
The judges and DA should have the best of everything so they can execute their duties with swift precsision ( exept of course when they make a mistake)
We will forgive you ,we will pay (through the nose)
You are a self sacrificing group of heros.
You deserve our best so  we will dig deep and give till it hurts and even more if it is not enough.
And not to worry ...like it was aid a few posts back, It can be built without expense to local taxpayers.
Of course ...of Course , we can get money stolen from other taxpayers to pay for our largesse.
Dont be a nayboob.
Dont ask what your town can do for you, ask what you can do for your town.
Salute when speaking with an officer of the law. and stand to your feet when "his Honor" enters the room and make sure he has his drinkie too.
And If I do agree to buy you a new building, will you promise to  use the full extent of your critical thinking skills if any to be nice to me and not assault me and shoot me with tazers  anymore?
or try not to threaten 14 year olds, really you are over the top with the tazer thing guys. Dont wear it so proud.
Please please MR government and Mr policeman I promise I will be docile and not combative. please dont hurt me anymore.
I will promise to worship the ground you walk on and give you anything you desire to extort from me.
I know you guys are great and wonderful men who only wish well.
So what if you make a mistake here and there, its okay, it wont cost you anything, the people will pay, you will retire happy and secure... maybe even git a timeshare near a golf course when you get old  so
you dont have to go
the old folks home with the outsiders and nayboobers.

But no... really, all seriousness aside,
it will be a cold day in hell when you get 2 cents outa my hide for any of your bullsh!t projects.

I would call a biker before i ever called a cop for help and they dont need a fancy building with all the latest crime fighting gear.
They can bring swift Justice , not like you burrokratic, procedure, laden morons, who can not think for themselves, but only memorizre orders from your superiors play book.
This is nothing new, for thousands of years small empty egos have built great buildings to house themselves in.
It helps them to cement their memes in the minds of the people.
It helps them to feel valid and legitamate.
They are like Darth Vaders... oh yeah awesome and scary when all decked out in  combat gear
But when stripped of their gear they  have little content inside.
Go ahead build your little fort at some one elses expense and make it secure because you are gonna need it when the Sh!t hits the fan next year.

Don't worry guys these rulers of the day know their time is short,
This is their last ditch effort to secure the New World Odor.
People are waking up to the scam of government.

And speaking of light bulbs.
This is you government and GE working to bring good things to life.
When they get everyone all changed over to floro bulbs they will be obsolete and ready to be replaced with LED.
Skip the flouros and go right to LED they are availible and more energy efficient tha flouro.
Trouble is They have invested billions in flour so they need to unload em first.
The they will push the LED.
Beat em to the punch LED is now ...flouros are so 20th century.
