I hope to see a new police station/justice court under construction within the next 2 years.
So YOU pay for it. The spending orgy by the town DEM morons continues at warp speed. What do we need a new town police station for if the police are being consolidated Countywide? |

If a strong enough tornado hits any public service building, unless it's below ground, there won't be anything left of it but a pile of debris. I will agree that the building is too small when court is in session but the rest of the time there's ample room to conduct it's business safely. When funds were available those in power couldn't agree on where they wanted a combined police, court, and town hall complex to be built. There was talk of building it next to District 2 firehouse on Curry Rd on land that was given to the town by Golub but the arguments continued. Now that the economy has tanked the tax and spend officials are pushing to build the complex on the backs of the taxpayer without and grants. It will fail!!!! |

It won't be long until the public union workers and first responders are stabbing each other in the back to be the first pig at the trough. That 2% tax cap is the tip of the iceberg. Wait until the federal austerity measures are inacted andthe federal money going to the states dry up and inflation skyrockets. It's gonna get ugly. The "public safety" fear monger won't work when everybody finally realizes there is no money. |

They will have to push the town DEMS away first. If the police are being consolidated Countywide- lol- why the hurry to build? As usual with the DEM morons build first, take care of contributors and screw over the taxpayers. At the same time. If they complain to town hall -hang up on them like they do at City Hall. Working together never works. |

Well, as far as I know, the only problem they have is completing the job on the clock during regular hours, hence the reason that we pay them $250,000 in overtime per year. Don't you wish that you could earn part of that? And then we hear about the inreasing crime in Rotterdam. Well, that wouldn't be due to the building that they're sitting in, that would be BECAUSE they're sitting in a building, instead of out actually taking care of the issues. Driving through town, there's always plenty that they could be doing, but they aren't. Build their new building by reducing the overtime, or maybe instead of continuously purchasing new SUV's, we could get smaller cars. It's not like they have to drive all the hills, we don't live in Duanesburg or throughout Schoharie County. Regular cars would suffice, saving thousands on gasoline each year, but now, that would mean getting rid of all of the SUV's at what cost? Well, at least we'll be saving money in the fact that the new regime coming in won't be getting paid for their ruling over the town... unless they plan on voting and changing that in one of their first meetings in January. |

The extremely sound and legitimate reasons for needing a new police station/justice court have been publicly and thoroughly explained -- just as the extremely sound and legitimate reasons for the District #5 expansion and for the Ambulance Tax District were publicly and thoroughly explained. The only people who refuse to understand the explanation are the lying, scheming NNTPers/Nayboobs who hate progress and would have the poor folks fend for themselves when it comes to fighting crime, putting out fires and performing emergency medical services -- and the people who fell for the lies and distortions that the NNTPers/Nayboobs have put out on these various issues. |

if the public feels safe in their self reliance, there is nothing wrong with that and it increases the strength of a community....I'm not saying fire houses/police are not needed but a community that is self reliant and tight is a GOOD thing.... |

The community is NOT safe -- especially when it listens to the lies and nonsense coming from the NNTPers/Nayboobs. |

This is just more of your scare tactics to frighten the poor frail seniors to vote for the REMS tax, Pine Grove Bond, new police station and any other tax your ridiculous party can think of when the residents of this town have said no to raising taxes. |
