Italian food is great....but we do like Chinese food too!!!

I don't know if pettas would do good anywhere anymore. They have been going down hill for quite some time. The wife went to a baby shower thingy(I think ) there and the food was barely warm. Meatballs were still cold.

We thought we'd give it another try a few months later and the food wasn't even warm. We won't be going back. Not to mention the riff raff in the parking lot.

However....it is a small business that employees people and for that I hope they succeed. But they just need to kick it up a notch first.  IMHO of course  

We ate there 2 years ago.   We had anticipiated italian bread with our ziti meal.   We were told by the waitress that they did not have any more on hand.   Ok.   But it was the cool matter of factly way we were told that bothered us most.   And no offer of a courtesy substitution for this lack of bread.   For this reason we have not ventured back.   Besides, the neighborhood you have to go through to get there sent an uneasy fear into the wife.   Especially with the recent gunfire in those parts.    She requested we not go back.   We prefer Canali's.   Nicer "hood" and larger portions.

Chinese food is also very good -- unfortunately I would only label the local Chinese restaurants as "just  barely acceptable" but certainly not "good" or "great".   The best Chinese food that I ever had was at a place in Baltimore and it was quite exceptionally good .. it was an authentic Chinese restaurant .. not the Americanized "all you can eat/fortune cookie" variety.

As for Canalli's,  I have gone there IN THE PAST - even had my campaign fundraiser there - but my family and I were very disappointed the last couple of times that we went and have pretty much check them OFF our list.

It's very interesting that places that majority of people like, you and family check-off, don't like, had bad experiences, etc.
Canali's has consistantly ranked as one of the best Italian restaurants in the area, but you don't like it............your loss, not theirs.  Maybe portions were just to small!!!!

If anyone approves of a place or issue then DV will be opposed, that's what trolls do.

Petta's should follow Transfinder's to State Street. They can get a truckload of taxpayer money and find another historic building to level. That's why Mike ran again-no? Or was it because he likes people and food? No one is going to Duane Ave for lousy fare. They never have bread and if they do it came from the bread museum.

We went to Canali's for years -- and enjoyed there food and service .. until the last couple of times that we went there.   It had NOTHING to do with portion sizes.   One of the events was a sit down dinner for a large group of people that we invited and i'll just say that we were extremely disappointed when what had been promised was not delivered.

Oh -- and as for people having different experiences -- I have never had a bad experience at Petta's .. yet you and the Nayboobs all seem to have had a bad experience there .. or did youfolks just post that because I started a thread congratulating Petta's on its 60th anniversary or is it because one of the owners is a Democratic politician  ????????????????/  mmmmm ???

Show me anywhere in any thread that I complained about the food at Petta's.....I did not state anything of the sort.
You are also wrong about never eating there....not only did I used to eat there when you were still wetting your pants, but we held a 90th B'day party for my Mother there, she's now 96, and I was there 6 mths ago when I took a friend out for dinner.  And don't even start to challenge me on any of this becuase I have 125 pictures of my Mother's B'day to prove it.....and I am not gong to share them just to prove you wrong, because I don't need to prove anything to you.
