How old are the 'seniors' that frequent that gossip center. What is the average age?

How many are actually boomers?

Most of the boomers acknowledge that they would prefer a 'social club', and that is why most of the boomers go to Glenville. Hell, these boomers don't even know they 'are' seniors. Most are still working, or in fla for the winter or at the casinos. they certainly don't want to be sitting around taking blood pressure or doing chair aerobics. And they go 'out' for lunch! The boomers are the wealthiest seniors in history!!!

Rotterdam isn't only antiquated but the senior gossip center has become such a political pawn that most all boomers won't ever venture there.

Wondered that myself....heck I'm an almost 65 boomer, and I want nothing to do with that place.......the only time I feel like a senior is when I look in a mirror and wonder who the heck that gray haired dude staring back at me is  .........I'd rather spend my time going for long walks, playing music with my friends, fishing etc.........can't see myself in a place like the Senior Center......those freakin' people are old

Someday you will be there....don't knock a number only.

From what I hear most seniors have more energy than some of the boomers

they are very agile and smart as a tack.... some with oxygen etc.,and manage to keep up with the so called
baby boomers

Exercise is very important for all ages.....and there are different kinds of exercises for all ages.

Tho it may not be a place for some, it is important to have something for seniors.....some even work

at age 70..

Don't knock it.....someday ...you don't know..... don't say never.....enjoy each day as it comes.

The DEM morons kept repeating the lie that the new County Home won't cost a penny. Right-$15 MILLION but not a penny. They have memorized the Joseph Goebbels manual on how to sway public opinion. As far as property taxes, everyone got reassessed way up so the tax rate should go down. Most people in town are paying twice as much tax as 8 years ago. Our County tax rate is 4X Saratoga and 3X Albany and the voters in their infinite stupidity gave the DEMS yet another seat. County GOP can meet in a phone booth since they have one legislator.

I work in a nursing home....and that is isolation enough.....why do we isolate seniors into a center for that aged....how about a community center.....that would be AFTER we do our chores around town......seniors dont need a place to
play cards....they have homes/apartments/senior housing or their kids house

seniors are cool......their stories are fabulous and they always remind me that getting old is very very very hard.......it's harder to get old than to care for the aged.....taking care of my residents is a piece of cake....
their kids.....HOLY CRAP.....I can't help them not feel inadequate.....society has made children/society feel very inadequate....hence my ps..the replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox...

there is alot of unneccessary fear out there....because of commercials/stupid public announcements/insurance and I really have to say it---the healthcare system......the empowerment has become more fear based and legalised that folks
just toss their hands up and assume they are inadequate....not to mention the speed in which we live.....a boomer has difficult time slowing down for their parent...that hampster wheel of life has trained them well.....

Seniors are very cool,
Working in one of them a few years back I saw a man sitting at a table with   chess board.
It was lunch time ,I sat down with him and man sure the guy was old and feeble but his mind was sharp as a tack, full of wisdom.
Of course the head person became very upset with me for having fellowship with my elder and promptly stopped our interaction.
Seemd to me they just want to isolate these elders of ours classify them as a liability, bleed em till they suck the rest of their life energy off and let em die.
They are just human resources and not worth very much.
In older days a bank was a money warehouse ,yeah only a "safe place" to store your money.
Now in these days of modern times the banks have become the government and the "Senoir Centers" are the new warehouse.
Thank goodness for people that work there and have a heart for humanity.

We didnt come this far to get this far.

Unfortunately, the Rotterdam Center was ruined and became a catalyst for one person's agenda.  The
reputation that the center has these days is deplorable.

The stepping stone and  disregard what actually was in the best interest for the seniors became a much bigger
goal for the person in charge.....after the TC office...what is next?

Surely that's already been decided and another personal goal is on tap.

Rotterdam is slowly sinking into the depths of despair...ooops...it's already begun...

could it be the new Town Clerk????

who has to know law and many other things ....and mandated STATE LAW has to be followed

so a walk in the park is not the case....

But, her law will be a priority, after she thinks she can dupe the public..

The downfall of the clerk's office...no confidentiality, and her way or no way.....

YOU ASKED FOR IT.

What sweep? Did the DEMS take highway superintendent? Many more jobs in the highway department than town clerk's office.
