Let's see what, if anything, all those well heeled downtown businesses are going to provide to the struggling residents of the city who are paying the taxes of those rich downtown.
Will fat rich Morris host free dinner at his uppty catering hall? Will the Hilton family put on dinner for the poor of the city in their tax exempt hotel? Will Mallozzi provide free bread to homeowners? Will the the political crony restaurants be sending food to the Concern for the Hungry organization for the food baskets?
Waiting to see who, if any, of the dem political cronies, the plex people, the well heeled downtown, will be volunteering their time sorting and packing in a couple weeks over at the former St Lukes. We've done it for many years, never saw the fat Lou Albano look-a-like. Never saw the dumb savage blond. Never saw the mama's boy. Etc.
Wonder if the millionaires will share Thanksgiving dinner with homeowners who lost their homes due to having to pay the taxes of the millionaires downtown.

The self-righteous totalitarian thugs like MC think that everyone has to volunteer for the causes that they demand everyone to participate in.
What causes a person gives his or her time to are up to the individual -- it is not up to a Hitler-wanna-be like MC to tell others what to think and what to do.

The HYPOCRITE posts !!!!!!!!!!! On the "Tasers...." thread, he wrote:

Quoted from DemocraticVoiceOfReason and the nayboobs haven't done anything proactive to help their city out either .. do you see these malcontents at neighborhood clean-ups ? do you see these whiners actually DO something other than flap their gums? NO
The HYPOCRITE is saying that the taxpayers should perform tasks in the city on a volunteer basis.....tasks that they pay taxes for which the city workers used to perform. The hypocrite DV is saying that the taxpayers should pay taxes on their own house, pay the property and school tax bills of the millionaires downtown, and then perform city servces without any compensation, no reduction in tax bills.
Such a typical comment by a mama's boy who refuses to work, cheers for increasing taxes on financially struggling people in an attempt to suck up to the socilialists.
DV, you say people should volunteer to clean up the neighborhoods but then you say volunteering should be up to the individual. BIG HYPOCRITE!!!!!!!!!!
And while I question why the downtown millionaires and your fellow socialists don't volunteer to help the poor in the city, I'm really asking WHAT are the well heeled government funded busineses doing for the city residents who pay their taxes.
Tell DV, since the taxpayers pay fat Morris' property tax bill while he rakes in tens of millions and gets that $200,000+ salary, tell us DV, why isn't he putting on a FREE Thanksgiving dinner for the financially struggling people who can't afford dinner because they pay his taxes?
Homeonwers pay Mallozzi's taxes, tell us DV, why doesn't Villa Italia give out free baked goods to the taxpayers who pay his property & school tax bills?
Marcella's doesn't pay property and school taxes. WHY then doesn't he give to the community buy donating appliances for Habitat homes?
Etc?
By the way, DV, you have not helped out on the neighborhood clean-ups either!

I most certainly did participate in the neighborhood clean ups when I belonged to the Mont Pleasant Action Coalition.

But today he wouldn't dream of doing anything in the city. Unless it's to suck up to the socialists hoping to get some "job" sitting around all day dreaming up ways to raise taxes on the homeonwers
So, again, do you agree that fat Morrris should put on Thanksgiving dinner for the taxpayers who pay his taxes? Do you agree that the Villa Italia should hand out free baked ogood to the city homeowers who pay Villa Italia's taxes? DO you agree Marcellas should donate all the applicances to Habitat homes---because the owners of those homes WILL be paying Marcella's property taxes.
As you claim to be Catholic, tell us. would Jesus approve of making the financially struggling homeowners pay the property and school taxes of the millionaires?

We would NOT volunteer our time to pick up garbage and crap that we pay taxes for someone else to do.

DVOR/GG has advocated numerous times on this site for residents to get out and do city jobs themselves. MC is right. MC is right about another thing - tax exemptions are supposed to be for non-profits that serve a public purpose, aren't they? Then where is the greater good? Not advocating that anyone has to volunteer, just pointing out that unlike, say, City Mission, these places don't seem to be alleviating any want except for the owners'. Speaking of City Mission, I got a mailing from them for Thanksgiving. OMG! They are supporting a small village down there! It seems like no matter what programs we fund with our taxes, or what charities we support, things just get worse! Our governor really needs to look at what New York's cities have become.

But then realized it's all a lost cause and gave up

What is THAT? A whorehouse? Gettin' some ACTION on a Saturday night? OMG...Whatever it was, was REALLY effective. It probably was a club formed by the democraps to bring people in from turd-world countries with free welfare tickets, and to assist people who wanted to re-locate from the Bronx to taxpayer-assisted housing and a free lifestyle courtesy of longtime Schenectady taxpayers...sickening.
