Herman Cain Sexual Harassment Accusations: GOP Presidential Candidate Denies Politico Report
AP/THE HUFFINGTON POST   First Posted: 10/30/11 09:59 PM ET Updated: 10/31/11 12:26 AM ET

GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain has denied a report alleging that he sexually harassed women during his time as head of the National Restaurant Association.

Politico released a story Sunday evening, noting that at least two female employees made complaints about Cain:

During Herman Cain’s tenure as the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, at least two female employees complained to colleagues and senior association officials about inappropriate behavior by Cain, ultimately leaving their jobs at the trade group, multiple sources confirm to POLITICO.
The women complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Cain that made them angry and uncomfortable, the sources said, and they signed agreements with the restaurant group that gave them financial payouts to leave the association. The agreements also included language that bars the women from talking about their departures....................>>>>..................>>>>......................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/30/herman-cain-sexual-harassment-accusations_n_1066487.html

"Have you ever been accused, sir, in your life of harassment by a woman?"

"He breathed audibly, glared at the reporter and stayed silent for several seconds.
After the question was repeated three times, he responded by asking the reporter,
'Have you ever been accused of sexual harassment?'"

That should seal the deal...Looks like Cain is our next president.

Cain had to moderate his position and move a bit to the left.  I didn't know he was going to pull a Willy Clinton/Juanita Broadderick to move to the left.  If this is true, he will steal a lot of the old Clinton supporters from Obama.  He may get some John Edwards supporters too.

Herman Cain... A flippin and a floppin:

Earlier in the day, Herman Cain explicitly denied knowledge of any settlement or financial payout related to allegations of sexual harassment, telling Fox News: "At the Restaurant Association – outside of the Restaurant Association, absolutely not. If the Restaurant Association did a settlement I wasn’t even aware of it and I hope it wasn’t for much because nothing happened. So if there was a settlement it was handled by some of the other officers who worked for me at the time.”

But just a few hours later, in an interview with the cable network's Greta Van Susteren, he recalled specific details about the allegations and one of the two settlements first reported by POLITICO.

"My general counsel said this started out where she and her lawyer were demanding a huge financial settlement…I don't remember a number," he said in a transcript portion published by Byron York.

"…But then he said because there was no basis for this, we ended up settling for what would have been a termination settlement." When van Susteren asked how much money was involved, Cain said: "Maybe three months' salary. I don't remember. It might have been two months. I do remember my general counsel saying we didn't pay all of the money they demanded.

Interesting that he can't recall alot, but remembers vividly the "one" incident about the reference to the woman's height.

Having no witnesses means nothing.

Not saying he is guilty or innocent of the accusations, but JMO most people would remember more details of being accused of something like that and what was told to you by counsel in the following months.

It's awful when woman make accusations about sexual harrasement that are not true, but its worse when they are true and are considered baseless.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee said he could "almost guarantee" that the recent Politico story about sexual harassment
allegations against Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain came from information leaked by another GOP campaign.

Herman Cain allegation: Sources reveal new details
By KENNETH P. VOGEL & MAGGIE HABERMAN & ALEXANDER BURNS | 11/3/11 5:28 PM EDT

Herman Cain flatly denies the most serious allegation facing him – that he made an unwanted sexual advance toward a female employee at a work event – but POLITICO has learned new details making clear there were urgent discussions of the woman’s accusations at top levels of the National Restaurant Association within hours of when the incident was alleged to have occurred.

The new details—which come from multiple sources independently familiar with the incident at a hotel during a restaurant association event in the late 1990s—put the woman’s account even more sharply at odds with Cain’s emphatic insistence in news media interviews this week that nothing inappropriate happened between the two.

In recent days sources—including associates of the woman and people familiar with operations of the restaurant association—have offered new details of the incident.

The woman in question, roughly 30 years old at the time and working in the National Restaurant Association’s government affairs division, told two people directly at the time that Cain made a sexual overture to her at one of the group’s events, according to the sources familiar with the incident. She was livid and lodged a verbal complaint with an NRA board member that same night, these sources said...................>>>>.............>>>>..............Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1111/67581.html#ixzz1cjCAyGqm

PICKET: Source - Rahm Emanuel involved in Cain sexual harassment accuser attacks
By Kerry Picket
Published on November 2, 2011, 06:59PM

*UPDATE -Mayor Emanuel is denying he is involved in anyway with the exchange of information regarding Cain's sexual harassment accusers.

Herman Cain's campaign is revealing suspicions about who is behind the story regarding the former unidentified employees who accused Mr. Cain of sexual harassment in the late 1990's.

According to a source who is friends with the Cain campaign, not only is the Rick Perry campaign involved but also the Mayor of Chicago and former Obama White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is likely involved with the sexual harassment accuser attacks. A friend of the Cain campaign believes a National Restaurant Association (NRA) employee out of the Chicago office leaked the story to the Perry campaign via information and influence from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's office.  ......................>>>>.....................>>>>.......................http://www.washingtontimes.com.....lved-cain-sexual-ha/

I'm glad that  some one outed this story.  It's bad enough that we have a sexual predator serving in the supreme court
(Clarence Thomas), we don't need one in the White House.
