ASK GE......both parties parlee' with GE to the tune of millions.........

the county subsidises SCCC by the millions...yet...the tuition....the tuition...the tuition...........(although I believe this is statewide)

union partakes in a program to give free tuition if you live in home bought in college district for 5years or more.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

WHY do you 'believe' that Roger Hull took over Seward and began working with the City? Check out the Gazette article from Monday, March 8, 2010 "College now touting its place on the map"

According to the Princeton Review (annual college guide) it stated "There's no disagreement over the City of Schenectady; everyone agrees it is less than ideal..."

This "Renaissance" is crap. The taxpayers know it, residents know it, visitors know it....even the Princeton Review knows it. The DEM party needs to stop drinking and sober up - the reality of the state of the City is frightening.

Why exactly does McCarthy want to be Mayor? He certainly doesn't care about the homeowners or the welfare of the neighborhoods. He doesn't cut ANYTHING from the budget, plans to spend $3 million on the golf course which held his campaign fundraiser, walked away from the $2 million the City owes the school district and publically humiliates residents at Council meetings.

Yeah, he's a keeper.....

Gary McCarthy, Ray Gillen, Susan Savage and Stratton were just about kissing Hull's feet when he offered to purchase the crack houses, rehab them and use them for student housing. The city was so exstatic that they put in a new street scape. In fact GaryMcCarthy, Ray Gillen, Susan Savage and Stratton actually had press conferences taking credit for not only the seward st college rehabs but also for Union's purchase of the Ramada Inn beast!!!

I find it almost insane to see/hear local government actually trying to discredit the jewel of this sh!t hole city. Union college is about the ONLY thing in schenectady that has credibility and class!!!

Good thing Phillip Morris isn't running against Gary McCarthy for Mayor! Can ya just imagine how that would be played out!!!

Ya just can't make this stuff up!!

What did Gary McCarthy do before he became a politician? Ever work in the private sector?

I think his real resume is stored with the city's remaining reserves.  He's responsible for everything but nothing at the same time.  Did Stratton know he was in the back seat behind Gary?

Quoted from Smoking Bananas
Wow. Did u read that information about Hull and his removal of $8 million from city coffers? Guess he not only did not create jobs, but he weakened the tax base.

Again, no proof associated with this figure - in typical DEM fashion.

No proof of the jobs created (just those shuffled from one part of Schenectady County to another part), no proof of this $8 million dollar figure and no adding in the money Union has contributed to the City via volunteer work, neighborhood revitalization or simply funds handed over (believe they paid to opened the pools this year for the City).

Please ask McCarthy why a completely tax exempt Downtown has been able to enjoy the City services such as sidewalks, lighting, plowing, streetscape work etc with all taxpayer funds.

Ironically, Union spent over $10 million of their OWN money to rehab this area in question. Not taxpayer money - independent funds. THAT is the type of investment needed in the City.

For too long, the Downtown area has been solely a taxpayers funded area. All the Metroplex grants used to relocate, start-up, pay for facades, etc are LOST TAXPAYER MONEY! We will never see those funds again. Then businesses like Cardio Mag flee with the County money elsewhere.

If a non-profit like Union can independently spend millions to renovate an entire neighborhood, then Proctors should do the same and not receive $9 million from the Metroplex for a new stage.

Taxpayer money cannot fund for-profit businesses any longer and our tax bills reflect that.

When the final tally is taken I am not unsure that Mr. Hull will be indicted by a grand jury for stealing that much money from the taxpayers.....I have personally sent letters to our fine AG AND the US Attorney -- it is time we break Union College for what they did....it is a conspiracy to defraud and it is time they pay back the City to the tune of 20-30 Million.....
