Schenectady council candidates singing different verses of same tune Monday, October 24, 2011 By Kathleen Moore (Contact) Gazette Reporter
SCHENECTADY — There’s a pack of 10 residents running for four seats on the City Council. Four Democrats, four members of the new Alliance Party — most of whom are also endorsed by the Republicans — one Republican and one write-in candidate are competing for the seats. They all want to improve the neighborhoods — a promise that has been the theme of at least the last two elections. So far, little progress has been made. This time, the candidates are split, even within their own party, on how to accomplish that goal. Some say a crackdown on minor crimes should be the first step, while others want to fix up the city’s housing stock. Still others say the city should focus on bringing in new businesses, or work with volunteer groups to clean up the neighborhoods, or simply cut taxes by slashing the budget......................>>>>.................>>>>.................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r00100&AppName=1

Leesa Perazzo actually said that record DEM taxes do not prevent City home ownership. She also said customer service at City hall isn't bad. WTF? She should have followed working together DEM Mootboot and not answered any Gazetto questions. Better not to remove all doubt. The worst DEM City slate in decades. |

Don't worry, now the City taxpayers will be forced to pay an additional $10K for trees and another 21 employees (with insurance/benefits/pensions) for the Wastewater takeover. Perazzo doesn't have the taxpayers best interest at heart. Homes are simply large ATMS for theDEM spending frenzy. She's just another puppet without an original idea or backbone to stand up for what is right. This is the type of mentality which is destroying the City and the taxbase. |

Instead of finding any cuts the DEM idiots actual add to the budget. Retree Schenectady should have a permanent budget line-remove Proctor's and horrible DSIC. We need more recycled tree grates? The DEMS are making fools of themselves at every debate. There ideas are hilarious. One DEM needs a translator and pathetic Leesa thinks City taxes are too low! She should stick to burning popcorn at Proctor's. Yet another stooge for Proctor's and Karen Johnson? |

Cut the taxes to reasonable levels and the neighborhoods will take care of themselves. People who pay their own way started leaving in droves after that horrible 25% tax increase. Where else do people pay sky high taxes and not receive basic services? Too much money wasted on special deals for special people. You're on the city payroll? Provide the service the taxpayers pay you for. |

But Leesa Perazzo likes the highest taxes in the State! She believes that help home sales. That's why 1,000 properties have been abandoned because of DEM moron taxes. The best thing the DEMS could do is resign in disgrace. They can't find cuts and there is no fee left to hike. |
