The house at 1273 Stratford Road, built in 1904, was originally Colonial James Andrews' home, a National Guard World War I veteran who also worked at GE. It was then lived in for decades by the founder of the SI Group, a prominent business in Schenectady. ( Philip Kamrass / Times Union )
SCHENECTADY -- The real estate agent who a year ago bought a sprawling home in the city's General Electric Realty Plot section at an auction is now living in the spacious Colonial with his family.
"We really like the place and the neighbors, and the neighborhood is fantastic," said Louis Narcavage on Friday, adding "the taxes are high." City officials had estimated annual property taxes to be about $18,000 on the foreclosed property.

Well, it's been a year and he can't sell it (that was his plan). Don't worry, when his child reaches school age, they'll get out of Schenectady one way or another. Even the teachers in the schools make sure their kids go elsewhere.
But McCarthy won't concern himself with that because he can't even pay the $2+ million the City owes the schools. For some reason, McCarthy can't seem to wrap his head around the concept that bad schools equal no new families.
You sure wouldn't. Schenectady because of McCarthy's DEM machine moron taxes and fees has the lowest home resale values-now down to $100,000 per sale according to the Capital District Realtors. Keep the implosion going re-elect horrible McCarthy and his 4 dwarfs.
Most folks that are able to shoulder an $18K tax bill are NOT going to move to the city of schenectady!!!! Not on purpose! The house is clearly classically elegant....but the location does not justify the taxes.
