The all DEM Niskayuna working together town board has released its horrible 2012 budget. Like the working together morons in Rotterdam it smashes the Cuomo tax cap. In Schenectady by doubling every fee Acting Mayor McCarthy increased total taxes over 7%. In Niskayuna a huge 3.4% increase in record property taxes and total budget a record $13.2 MILLION. Cuts? What cuts? Another great example of working together, one party DEM rule with no checks and balances.

Town hearing on tax - cap increase draws residents' angry comments
Daily Gazette, The (Schenectady, NY) - Thursday, October 6, 2011
Author: MICHAEL GOOT ; Gazette Reporter
Residents loudly criticized Glenville officials for even considering going over the tax cap in a sometimes angry discussion that included Supervisor Chris Koetzle drawing graphs on a whiteboard.

"I don't think you guys give a damn one bit about the people -- plain and simple," said resident Ron Bortell. "I'm really fed up with politicians and that's what you guys all are -- scum bag politicians."

Bortell added later he probably shouldn't have used those words but said the Town Board was looking for an out instead of controlling spending.

He was among the dozen speakers during a public hearing on a local law to consider exceeding the tax cap . Town officials said they do not plan to exceed the cap but needed the flexibility to go beyond the limit if needed.

While the total levy would rise about 3.2 percent under Koetzle's tentative $18.2 million spending plan, it complies with the 2 percent limit because the law allows municipalities to exclude pension costs from the cap . If this budget were adopted, a homeowner with an average assessment of $173,000 would pay about $571 in town property taxes .

Town budget as proposed stays under tax cap rules
Daily Gazette, The (Schenectady, NY) - Monday, October 3, 2011
Author: STEVEN COOK ; Gazette Reporter
Four full-time positions would be eliminated through attrition and fees for some town services would go up under the proposed 2012 Niskayuna town budget.

The budget is the first under the new state-imposed 2 percent tax cap rules, supervisor Joe Landry noted, making it difficult to keep the first spending plan in line with the rules.

But the Town Board would have the opportunity to override the new rules through an extra step, Landry noted. And Landry said he will recommend the board keep their options open and call for the required public hearing in the event the board believes exceeding the cap is necessary.

Working together works! To bust the Cuomo tax cap, lie about nonexistent job creation and pretend to cut costs. Coach Landry should go back to Dallas. From there he can do less harm.

who cares what the populace said...that's not even worth talking about.....like here when folks talk about who called who what......who cares.....I used the term gumba gangstas all the time....but only
because of the ideology/organization behind it, I could really give a rats a$$ about the Italian part.....

as for the public calling the Glenville board scumbags.......maybe they SHOULD HAVE stuck to their leadership guns and NOT gone over.....let the populace fight their neighbors over the lucrative
contracts/benefits on the back of the public.....that's what REAL LEADERS DO.....no secure elected positions  for photo ops.......

maybe the 'occupy anything' IS about neighbor to neighbor combat....that's what it's looking like everyday.....SHAME SHAME SHAME on our leaders and SHAME SHAME SHAME on us for even
looking for those lucrative government bennies......
