I have never claimed to be a stock broker .. that would be a violation of SEC regulations -- I am just an investor.
Stockbrokers can purchase and invest in stocks and securities. There is no SEC rules against them investing. If you don't realize this then you certainly are neither a stock investor or a broker. Fool. |

Actually, you are the fool. You have to be pass an exam and be licensed by the SEC to be a stock broker .. just like you have to pass an exam and be licensed by the SEC to be Registered Representative for a financial firm. A registered representative can meet with clients and advise them on their investments --- but only the stockbroker can actually make the purchase of the stocks or securities. If I were to try to tell people that I was a stock broker - which I am not - that would be a violation of SEC rules. Furthermore, I can not give financial advice to to to a client or otherwise suggest that I am a registered representative of a financial firm - because that too would be a violation of sEC rules. I am currently -- only an investor (I call up or email my stock broker and he makes the actual purchase of the stock or security for me with my money) -- not a licensed registered representative or a registered stock broker -- and I am very clearly stating that so that no of you calls up the SEC and tries to have me arrested for claiming to be either a licensed registered representative or a registered stock broker. |
