SCHENECTADY — The mentally disturbed man who police shot at the Daily Gazette's building after he lunged at them with a steak knife apologized for his actions Friday before being sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison.

going to prison for not taking his meds and the assault weapon of choice.....a steak knife....WOW!!!

bet he has to register his kitchen utensils when he gets out

And he'll get lots of "help" in prison right? If anything sentence him to county and then put him in mental health court and probation. He did wrong for sure but c'mon. He won't get any helpful counselling in prison. Did this guy have priors? Can't recall.

And I wonder if those officers that shot him are now trained in the proper use of a taser. They shot him three times for pete's
sake.
