Rotterdam police probe possible animal cruelty case By Paul Nelson Staff writer Published 11:05 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011
ROTTERDAM -- Police are Wednesday night looking into a possible animal cruelty case involving dozens of cats and dogs living in deplorable conditions, according to Randy Simons, a spokesman with the county the Schenectady County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
He said police and animal rights activists were Wednesday night at a home on the 1700 block of Suffolk Avenue from which between 45 and 50 cats and dogs were being seized from the residence. Some of the animals were reported to be aggressive, Simons said.
At least two people, including one who lives on a garage on the property, may face criminal charges in connection with the incident.
In today's Gazette, FDG was quoted that he didn't know why Rotterdam animal control didn't do anything about the cat situation, and then he said that the animal control officer couldn't get near the place because "it stank so bad."
Yup give the animal control officer more money so he can sit back and do nothing about this type of activity. How about give him a white suit and a gas mask and do his f'n job! I hate to tell the animal control officer, but there is more than one house in Rotterdam with this type of problem.

SERIOUSLY? really? I could say that as a nurse I couldn't take care of someone because their a$$ stank too much......GET A DIFFERENT JOB YOU MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

LOL! Honey your a$$ stinks so you will not be getting your meds today!
SPCA was right to raid the home on Suffolk Ave., this is the way to handle more than just a few animals.
SPCA raids anywhere where this kind of crime is committed.....apparantly no one watches TV and sees what other states, counties, cities do, in like cases.
I believe FDG's comments were taken out of context and weren't elaborated...
Thank you SPCA....and our own Animal Control Officer....he was there and did his part....
Are you people insane? You really think 1 animal control officer is equipped to deal with 30-50+ cats and a dog? Get a grip... smh
Nope!
And as a side note, if folks feel lead to....it appears that the SPAC is overwhelmed and financially over extended with animals between these cat houses, the flood and the loss of jobs, that they need some financial help. Just a suggestion here.
