My suggestion would be to have the City Council and the Mayor spend everyday between now and the election WALKING through the City neighborhoods. No, not to Key Bank Hall for fundraisers, actually walking down Campbell Avenue, Craig Street, Union Street, McClellen....let them see what they are turning a blind eye to.

I pay my property and school taxes, I do what I am bound to do. The Mayor has the duty to help the City, help the homeowners live in a safe environment and spend the taxpayer money wisely.

He hasn't done that. A $3 million dollar plan for a golf course? That's his plan?

Graffiti is a problem but how many assaults and robberies have taken place there within the past two years?  Are you risking your lives     by taking a  morning walk in Central Park?

Is the park actually that dangerous?

The best thing would be to put the NAYboobs on a chain gang ... and make them work 10 hours a day cleaning the parks --- with an 15 minute lunch and 20 minute supper break ---  bread and water only -- and MAYBE two 2 minute potty breaks (don't forget to bring a baggy to clean up after your potty break)  a day IF they are on good behavior.

One, DV, we both volunteer in many many things such as non-profits (and that means non profits that do not take in $5 mil in a month and do NOT pay their chief a fat six figure salary).

Taxpayers should NEVER have their taxes raised and then have their mayor say he expects them to volunteer, at least NOT when the mayor exempts the millionaires downtown from paying taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!    Where is the Lou Albano look-a-like, i.e. Philip Morris, in all this, he doesn't go out cleaning graffiti off buildings in Central Park, in return for the forced "generosity" of his millions and millions of taxpayer money PLUS not paying a penny in property or school taxes, PLUS a $200,000+ salary, PLUS the theft from the homeonwers of two STAR exemptions, Morris should be busting his hump every day cleaning graffiti from Central Park without pay.   Yeah, how much money did Morris pay to help keep swimming pools open in the city??????    NOTHING!!!!!!    NOT ONE DANG PENNY.

So, where is the Hilton family volunteering in Central Park?   They don't pay taxes, and don't volunteer.   Ditto Mallozzi.   Ditto Paul Mitchell.   Golub.   How about the scumbag tax delinquents who were rewarded with a quarter of a million dollars and the taxpayers had to pay the taxes they owed on the Foster building.....heck, after being given a quarter of a million dollars of taxpayers' money, the city didn't even hold back what they owed on their other numerous properties......but are they vollunteering in the park?   Heck no.

Nope, we don't see DV out there scrubbing the graffiti off either.    Just make the overtaxed homeonwers be expected to voluntarily perform the services that they pay taxes for.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Of course the No New Tax party/Alliance party/Nattering NAYboobs of negativity  are upset that Mayor McCarthy is encouraging people to volunteer ----- because these folks   (MC, MT, GB, et al) have NEVER volunteered their time to help improve their community.    They are content to sit in the balcony -- like those two old men on Muppet show and whine and criticize everybody else who is volunteering and/or working to improve the community. That is quite pathetic.

TAX PAID LEADERS SHOULDN'T BE TALKING ABOUT VOLUNTEERING.....that's what churches/boyscouts/girlscouts/reading clubs/and every other 'ribbon awareness' group should be doing...oh wait..
United Way/actors/actresses/sportspersons etc etc.......

HOW DARE HE.....HOW F'EN DARE HE..........REALLY? REALLY.......   shame shame shame sham sham sham

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
