One of Planned Parenthood's best programs is Preventing Pregnancies with Birth Control and Prevent STD's with
Condoms.  How can anyone be against that?  The price of fixing those two issues after the fact, is outrageous,
both in dollars and in emotional and physical pain.

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

The Paul groupies don't educate, they convert.  Once you see past Paul as the Messiah, you'll see he's just one more
Republican Politician.
BTW, if Paul were elected president there would be no STD clinics... Picture that!  Talk about "waking up"... When all
those good Conservative teens come home to mom & dad to announce a STD or a teen pregnancy because Ron Paul closed
down Planned Parenthood taking away their access to Birth Control and STD treatments... That will be the wake up!

This is precisely the occupiers problem.  They WANT government involvement in private enterprise, but only for THEIR causes, they want to pick and choose who gets taxpayer money.  They don't like banks getting the money, they don't mind solar energy getting the money, they don't mind planned parenthood getting the money, they don't mind union automakers getting money, and they don't mind GE getting money and paying NO income tax.  Liberal occupiers are schizophrenic.  They are totalitarians competing with the OTHER totalitarians.  It's hilarious to watch.

PP isn't a profit making organization.
Many of PP's services are Public Health... Much like a typhoid or cholera epidemic are best treated by the Govt or
with Govt oversight to be effective, Planned Parenthood offers public health services.
Once a STD outbreak hits teen populations, it often spreads throughout the entire group, then on to neighboring
towns similar to an epidemic.
The Conservative  "Abstinence" program failed miserably (just ask Bristol Palin) both at preventing pregnancy and
curbing STD's.  Preventing pregnancy, and preventing STD's is far cheaper and with far less emotional and physical
pain, than treating them after the fact.
Unless you have an effective plan to prevent humans from having sex (none have been found since the dawn of
civilization), preventing pregnancy and STD's is the only reasonable course of action.

Non profit is a tax status, it is still a private enterprise.  They set their own salaries and operating budgets.  Don't get it confused.  Face it, you guys want to give my money to who YOU want, you're just a totalitarian with a different agenda.

This post seems to say more about Senders than it does about PP.

Planned Parenthood President: My 400K Salary a “Non-Issue”

Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, gave an interview to a newspaper in Oregon during a recent trip there to support a local affiliate of the abortion business. During the interview, Richards defended her exorbitant salary, saying it is a “non-issue.”

The Willamette Week newspaper asked her, “In the efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, a lot was made of your salary—close to $400,000 per year. Planned Parenthood declined to comment on it. Why?”

“It’s public record. It always has been,” Richards responded. “I work hard for my salary, and I think that’s a red herring. Planned Parenthood is the most cost-effective provider of family planning services in this country. The far right has done everything they can to undermine us and to create non-issues, which I think that is.”

The high salary is not surprising given that the abortion business makes more than $1 billion in income. First achieved in its 2006-2007 fiscal year, the abortion business now regularly brings in more than $1 billion. That’s because the abortion business, that year, was doing more abortions than ever before. Its annual report showed an increase in the number of provided abortions from 264,943 in 2005 to 289,650 in 2006.

More recent figures show, in 2009 alone, Planned Parenthood performed 332,278 abortions. Since the average cost of an abortion was $468, Planned Parenthood’s total abortion income that year was $155 million. In light of their total “health center” income of $404,900,000, Planned Parenthood made out like bandits with abortion, which generated 38.4% of this total revenue.

Meanwhile, in the new interview, Richards defends Planned Parenthood’s opposition to laws which allow women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn child — something Richards claims is allowed even though women who have had abortions there say they are frequently denied the opportunity to see it.

“Do you believe laws requiring women to receive sonograms prior to abortions affect their decisions to have an abortion?” the newspaper asks.

“We always counsel women on all their options if they have an unintended pregnancy. What we have found historically is that women make incredibly responsible decisions. The thing that is really disturbing about most of these laws is that they basically assume women are incapable of making their own personal, responsible decisions about their health care,” Richards said.

“But these laws push women to get more information before making a decision,” the newspaper added — which prompted Richards to attack pro-life male legislators.

“Legislators, most of whom will never be pregnant, [are] writing their own ideas about what doctors should be telling their patients. It assumes doctors aren’t responsible, that they have to be led by the legislature to tell women what to think. Most legislation being passed contains erroneous information. It’s not even medically accurate. It assumes that women won’t have the wherewithal to actually talk to their doctor about keeping a pregnancy or whatever alternatives there are,” Richards responded.

Richards also showed she has no interest in making abortion rare. When asked by the newspaper, “Bill Clinton spoke about keeping abortion legal and rare. Are we closer to his vision?” Richards doesn’t mention abortion — preferring to attacking prolife lawmakers in Congress who want to revoke taxpayer funding for the abortion business.

Just my opinion...
Occupy has been somewhat effective in bringing the actual problems in our economy to the public eye.  I hope the
movement continues to accomplish some real change in the system.
However...
If the day ever comes where the Rich feel that they are actually losing power, that their grasp on the US Govt money tree
is slipping and the Wealthy and Powerful in this country think that they will be pushed down to the status of 'ordinary
citizen'...
There will be repression in the streets that this country has never experienced.

The Wealthy/Powerful control the military/police, so I suspect that they are none to worried if things ever got to a degenerative state.

Could'nt agree more.   In a capitalistic system the best way to "vote" is with your funds.   When that is done en masse, like not frequenting a poorly run restaurant, the message is usually gotten across by evidence of lost revenue for that establishment.   And on the other hand you can also pull your $$$$ of the table if you so choose to not frequent any Plex supported handout business if you disagree with that type of application of your tax $$$$.

Unfortunately with the fiat currency, you can't make a run on the bank and pull your deposits out if you think your bank is making risky loans or investments.  Whether you take your money out of the bank, put it in a credit union, or under your mattress, the bank doesn't rely on your deposits, they get their deposits through the federal reserve system.  The fed will just print more cheap money, recapitalize the banks, and devalue the money under the mattress in the process.  People need to wake up and realize that the central bank and big government have us by the balls.  The system is structured that way.  Fiat money takes the power away from the people and protect the wealthy banking and corporate interests.  America is the furthest thing from capitalism.  That's just one of those lies repeated over and over that Americans believe it.

You wanna hurt corporate banking?  Stop paying your mortgage and close out all 401k and mutual funds.
