Rdam might bust it if the 4 dems have at FDG's budget and increase the crap out of it!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
Supervisor's plan for '12 budget hikes levy 3.3 percent Daily Gazette, The (Schenectady, NY) - Wednesday, October 5, 2011 Author: MICHAEL GOOT ; Gazette Reporter Taxes for the average Glenville resident would go up about $18 under the 2012 budget proposed by Supervisor Chris Koetzle.
The spending plan complies with the 2 percent tax cap because state law allows municipalities to exclude state-mandated pension costs from counting toward the cap.
So SB, Glenville did NOT overturn the tax cap as the title of your post would have us believe.
Well, there's no shame in being wrong, but there is a little in perpetuating an idea which is clearly a lie.
ha ha.. they did. plain and simple.. they busted the cap.. and they will vote officially to do so... wait for the vote.. it they are not busting the cap, why hold the vote to overturn? it seems you only accept logic when it suits your pov... the city did not overturn the tax cap, yet u say it did. glenville overturned the tax cap and u say it did not.
just to explain this further -- they 3.3 percent applies to the tax levy, which is what the tax cap deals with,. they are violating the tax cap, plain and simple..
Like when Amedore said "I don't consider this my JOB..."
...read the fine print!

So is the City of Schenectady with the 'fees' for water, garbage and sewer. NOW, the City is using this fee money to pay off debt???? You can point fingers all you want, but the fact is the only City not raising taxes for the homeowners is Albany.
Honestly SB, if McCarthy came up with a decent budget maybe by cutting jobs, not getting another secretary, relinquishing all plex PILOT payments to Downtown businesses so that they would begin to pay property and school taxes and by finally not raising the homeowners taxes for another consecutive year, I would have gained some respect for him.
But McCarthy didn't do any of that. It's another slap in the fact to every property owner in the City and proof positive that he has little to no fiscal obligation to the middle class. Protecting tax-exempt millionaires? That sounds like the evil stereotypical REP many speak about.....
It is a stretch to begin to even compare glenville to the city of schenectady regarding taxes vs services! They pale in comparison. Glenville has an outstanding school system, the streets are safer, homes retain their value, infrastructure is updated and sound, the residents take pride in themselves and their properties.....and that is just to name a few amentaties.
The city on the other hand has a school district that can't graduate 50% of it's students, homes are devaluing and many are left vacant or need to be torn down, the infrastructure is almost non existent and very few take pride in their properties or themselves. The city is crime ridden with gangs, pit bull attacks and shooters on the loose. Lest we should forget about the police dept fiasco. Walking downtown, any person can expect being approached by an 'undesirable' at least once. Then there is central crime park where graffiti is everywhere and perverts are plentiful. .... and this is just to name SOME of the advantages (tic) one has while living in schenectady.
So in comparison......Glenville is the jewel and schenectady is the pit of the county. It doesn't take a rocket scientist here folks.
The dss building gets more foot traffic daily then all the businesses do in the city! Now that's a plus!
Thank you metroplex. Thank you Gary McCarthy. Thank you Susan Savage. Thank you Stratton!! Fine job!

municipalities are all facing problems....the decline happened long before the current bunch took office, u might even say it began when GE gutted the local work force. we can even put a date to that -- 1980s... so u are dealing with 30 years of problems.
the city';s problems are bad, for sure. that is why people fled to the burbs. but the burbs have their own problems ...
it is just plain silly to blame these problems on certain people, as if they caused them they did not.. u tell me how savage is causing the dropout rate and the pit bull problem and the unsafe streets? u can;t.. u just like to blame her, because that is the easy thing to do. but in all honesty, she is not the problem, never was and never will be.
please find another scape goat -- she is not even in power anymore... and when she was taxes at the county level declined... yes, hard to believe but it is true ..
your constant belly aching is wearing thin.. it is almost pointless to read what u say because they always say the same thing.. blah blah blah. pit bulls,, mcathy. blah blah bla.. high taxes savage.. blah blah blah.. the paint is peeling,, morris.
When there are people in charge of $100 million Metroplex dollars, yet not even 5,000 jobs are created, there's a problem.
The empty Trustco building purchased by the County Leg and now vacant (a yearly loss of $600,000 tax dollars) - a big problem.
A $30K loan 'forgiven' by the Plex to Clinton's Ditch - a big problem
Metroplex loans repayable over decades without even 1% interest on them - a HUGE problem
An entire downtown exempt from paying their legally obligated property and school taxes - criminal.
The people 'in charge' of overseeing millions pissed it all away on what??? That's our county tax dollars gone. That's the City tax base decimated by ignorance on part of Gillen, McCarthy, Savage and others in the Plex.
It wouldn't be so bad if these folks just started doing the right thing, but they continue to waste money and make poor decisions. Buying new inspectors for ALCO, forgiving loans, bailing out bad businesses - it's more corrupt than any mob ever was.
You can roll over and ignore it, but most City taxpayers won't keep paying for stupidity.
the trustco building is not a 600k loss annually.. where did u get that figure
loans are forgiven all the time.. clintonj;s ditch repaid that 30k threefold by generating business for the area.
more than 5000 jobs created, btw.
as for the other issues, that is economic devlopment deals -- i suppose the same agrument applies to the state giving globalfoundaries 12 billion [i am guessing] scott free to build their plant in malta... or, as u frequently point out, the montco ida giving dha holdings a loan of 75k to come to that town..
The difference is $100 million for 5000 jobs is criminal.
The difference is, the Metroplex 'forgiving' a $30k loan of the taxpayers money is criminal.
The difference is Amsterdam loaned $75K to a DHA company (which brought 26 jobs to that location) meanwhile the City of Schenectady GAVE $30K, another $10k a year for parking and absolutely no job creation for the DHA headquarters.
The difference is the City taxpayers pay three times as much in property and school taxes and have NOTHING but a bunch of tax exempt millionaires in a Downtown and neighborhoods going into the sewers.
The City of Schenectady is corrupt, the money has been wasted on nothing. 9% unemployment with $100 million spent on no jobs???? Please SB, do the math.
BTW, the County bought the Trustco Bank Building in 2005 for $2.4 millions dollars which they spent another $200K for an environmental study on this location. This building is sitting vacant for 6 years. Sorry I said a $600K loss in taxes - it's well over that now.
