SCHENECTADY -- Due to a water main break on school property, Paige Elementary School will be closed on Monday, school district officials said Friday.
Once the break is repaired, the water must be tested and deemed safe before it can be open.
While it is expected that Paige School will be open Tuesday, check the district website -- http://www.schenectady.k12.ny.us -- or school closings on the local news on Tuesday to be sure.
Yes once again, PEOOD POSTIVE that the socialists DEMS running the city are totally misguided when it comes to spending the taxpayers' money. They can spend money on building buidings for millionaires who have the fund to build their own buildings. They increase the taxes on the homeonwers in order to exempt the millionaires from paying taxes. And in so doing, they have ignored and/or reduced maintaining VITAL NECESSARY services to the residents and homeonwers who actually live in the city.
Can't wait to see what the proposed budget will be. It is election year and I wonder if they will try to postpone paying many things this year in order make it seem like they are spending less. The socialist could say that the budget is reduced, but in face the tax BILLS wilk increase because the total taxable assessments is reduced because the increased exemptions for downtown. Or they'll pull one of those things of putting off til tomorrow what really needs to be paid today.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
Right on, MC. This past storm was the straw that broke the camel's back as far as our water and sewer system is concerned, I'm afraid. We'll be seeing more and more "emergencies" which, unlike the storm, were entirely preventable.
BTW, the large number of homes unoccupied during the storm are a ticking time bomb. Many will have water stagnating in the basement. I have seen what happens when storm water is left too long, and it isn't pretty.
