Prove it demento. Show the campaign mailer where Hull says he created 4,000 jobs. Sick and tired of your constant lying. You said the Gary McCarthy mailer doesn't exist but the Gazetto, TU and Talk 1300 all have it. As usual you are full of s***. |

ahhh. this is the moment we have been waiting for: go here: http://theallianceparty.org/platform-issues.htmlclick on jobs read this: Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Like people across the country, we in Schenectady need them. Unlike others, we have a vehicle that can make our task easier—Metroplex. Metroplex, a funding vehicle for the city and county that is unique in the region, was created through the efforts of local businessmen and women spearheaded by Neil Golub and Roger Hull, who had previously brought together concerned citizens to form Schenectady 2000. Schenectady 2000 changed attitudes in the community. By laying the groundwork for Metroplex, it also led to the investment of $400 million in renovation and construction downtown and more than 3000 jobs. Now, Metroplex must also pay attention to our crumbling neighborhoods and help neighborhood businesses survive and thrive so that, in turn, they can hire community residents. These efforts were not Democrat or Republican ideas; they were good ideas—and they were proof of how things can get done when people work across party lines. Another good idea: Union’s investment of $26 million in the College Park neighborhood, which turned crack houses and decrepit buildings into a rejuvenated area—and employed dozens in the process. And an idea we’d like to put in place: a business concierge center in City Hall. If we want more jobs for our people, we have to be more business friendly to potential business owners. Good ideas are not restricted to one party. To turn our city around and put people to work, we need to use the same formula that was employed in Schenectady 2000, Metroplex, and the redevelopment of the College Park neighborhood. Good ideas-yes; party politics—no! Roger Hull and The Alliance Party |

The point that everyone seems to be missing here is the way even ONE job was 'CREATED'. THEY WEREN'T....they were 'selected' by the government with the overburdened taxpayer's money!!!!! Call it Gary McCarthy, Call it Susan Savage, Call it Phillip Morris, Call it Ray Gillen.......CALL IT THE METROPLEX!! The fact of the matter is they were the steam behind the socialist engine.
The free market NEVER sought out schenectady. The steam in the engine took taxpayer's money under the heading of the metroplex and lured/begged/relocated/greased hands of businesses to come here.
IT'S NOT REAL!! It is government produced and it has cost the taxpayers a bundle. It is nothing more then a false sense of economic security. The working folks that are left in the city are shouldering the tax burden and they can't for much longer.
The dss and unemployment building gets more 'customers' then the theater and bombers and the other gin mills combined!!! Now that is what is called SUCCESS!!!

It is not the government's role to create jobs. That is for the free markets to do. It is the role of government to produce an enviornment of low taxes, low crime, strong infrastructure, home affordability, a good school system...and folks who want to spend $$$.....blah blah blah. The free market will take care of the rest. And if there are no jobs or a lucrative welfare program........people will leave and seek it elsewhere. It is being done everyday in NYS. Well....all except the welfare recipients. They are here for life! |

What an idiot. NOWHERE does it saying anything about Roger Hull creating 4,000 jobs. It is not the Mayor's job to create jobs-it is his job to create a positive business environment. Like not voting to raise taxes hundreds of times. McCarthy said he created 4,000 "private sector jobs" Downtown. You and all your moronic statements should be permanently removed from this board. |

McCarthy lied about creating 4,000 new jobs and lied about cutting taxes. He even lied about his job which he did not resign from. The press caught him on it. The only morons that still support him don't live in the City, don't own to City property and pay no taxes. Rotsa Ruck pulling a Savage and getting caught- lol. |

I will ask Roger for the list... as he agrees the 3000-plus jobs exist and that Metroplex helped inject $400 million into the area.
Go back to your master and lick his boots. |
