Maybe you can explain where $100 million dollars for revitalization in the City of Schenectady has gone to SB.

Where are all the jobs? Why is the unemplyment rate 9%? Why are property taxes triple in the City than in Saratoga County? If the County is doing so great, why are taxes going up 1.5% and Metroplex is down to its last 3 million?

That's A LOT of money gone in a very short amount of time with nothing substantial to show for it. That's criminal.

The latest joke DEM mailer has the job creation number at only 3,500. In 3 weeks the working together DEM crew has lost 500 jobs! Now that the press is asking where the jobs "created" are the numbers keep shrinking. McCarthy created 4 jobs for himself.

Then why is the County Leg raising taxes if they're creating so much business and sales tax?

As senders says, politicians should not be getting a pat on the back when businesses come to the area. On the contrary, the Metroplex has perverted itself and morphed into a political payback scheme for certain businessowners. It's no longer about development or the welfare of the City, it's about  connected political players getting as much money as they can without anyone questioning the long-term impact on the City or the taxpayers.

It's economically unsound, it hasn't helped the City taxpayers at all and dubbing this a Renaissance is merely fiction at its finest.

Well said. But it is obvious that the city/county leaders are ignoring and not listening to the plea's of the taxpayers. However they do listen and don't ignore the folks at the dss building since they offer a lucrative welfare pkg. NYS isn't know as the welfare capital of the world for nothing. Keep 'em dumbed down and uneducated is the slogan to guarantee re-election.

the cost of unfunded state mandates are what is causing the increase in property taxes  --
even with cost cutting in other areas and the economic development efforts of Metroplex -- the cost of unfunded state mandates are rising each year .. and the state just automatically withdraws that $$$ from the county's bank accounts

you folks really need to EDUCATE YOURSELF on these topics before you come up with your negative comments and conspiracy theories ....  because you are way off the mark and it makes you look foolish

History of the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation
The New York State Affordable Housing Corporation ("AHC") is a public benefit corporation, established in 1985 pursuant to Section 45-b of the Private Housing Finance Law ("PHFL") as a subsidiary of the New York State Housing Finance Agency ("HFA"), to administer the Affordable Home Ownership Development Program ("Program") under PHFL Article 19. The purpose of the Program is to promote homeownership by persons of low and moderate income, which, in turn, fosters the development, stabilization and preservation of neighborhoods and communities. To achieve these goals, AHC provides financial assistance, in conjunction with other private and public investment, for the construction, acquisition, rehabilitation and improvement of owner-occupied housing.

Within the limits of available funding, AHC may provide grants within the following per dwelling unit limitations: up to $35,000 per unit; or $40,000 per unit for projects located in high cost areas as defined by AHC, or for projects receiving a U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Service (formerly the Farmer's Home Administration) Loan. In addition, under statutory Program requirements, AHC grants cannot exceed 60 percent of total project development costs. By leveraging other private and public funds, and reducing development and rehabilitation costs, assistance provided by AHC makes homeownership affordable to families and individuals for whom there are no other reasonable and affordable home ownership alternatives in the private market. Additionally, the development, rehabilitation, and home improvement activities undertaken in connection with the Program are intended to help eliminate conditions of blight and deterioration, and to encourage stability and create jobs in communities throughout the State. Eligible applicants include: local municipalities; housing authorities; housing development fund companies; neighborhood and rural preservation companies; as well as not-for-profit or charitable organizations which have the development or improvement of housing as a primary purpose.

AHC works with its parent agency, HFA, and its sister agency, the State of New York Mortgage Agency ("SONYMA") (collectively, the "Agencies"), to increase homeownership opportunities. As part of the Agencies' policy of one-stop shopping, an AHC Program application includes a SONYMA Project Set-Aside application.

The membership of AHC consists of the Commissioner of Housing and Community Renewal, the Director of the Budget and the Commissioner of Taxation and Finance of the State of New York, and four additional members appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Chairman of AHC's parent agency, HFA, is, pursuant to law, the Chairman of AHC. The members appointed by the Governor serve for the full or unexpired portions of six-year terms.

McCarthy phony baloney job update! Because Death Ray and the working together DEM idiots got slapped in the face by GE Solar the number of jobs they allegedly "created" has been revised downward. Way down. The new number is 10. 4 for McCarthy and 6 new hot dog vendors. This is subject to further revision in the colder weather. Keep the implosion going! Next up-McCarthy as alleged mortgage banker.

Oh not to worry.......if/when Gary McCarthy loses the mayor's election...there will be some created patronage job waiting for him just like there was for Kosiur and Stratton and Savage. Remember....stratton skipped town because he knew that he could never win another election....same for Kosiur.......same for savage! If the political climate changes after this election.....there will be more skipping town.

McCarthy will lose because he is another Bella Abzug. The people that know him the most will vote for Roger Hull. Look at the GE Realty Plot. The political climate has already changed-the opposition just needed to be organized.

Many of the neighborhoods, especially the predominately democratic Stockade and GE Plots, are donning LOTS of Hull/Riggi signs. It was surprising to see because this is where many die-hard voters live.

November is looking VERY interesting.
