....but who else is running for town clerk besides Diane Marco? Is there an incumbent? Somebody else running? Just curious.

Alias, I heard that Marco will be running unopposed because no one will accept the republican endorsement. Have others heard this?

I heard there are 4 or 5 candidates that interviewed last night. I also heard all over town that John Digeorgio was going to run but that Diane Marco intimated that she would be throwing lots of mud at him so he backed out. Apparently dirty little letters were mailed to him, his wife, his kids, and his elderly father all threatening him that it was going to get dirty! At one of the soccer fields the entire place was talking about that, everyone knows. So that is the scoop.

However you will hear about someone, I am sure who will get the GOP endorsement in a few days. Not everyone is "afraid" to run for office, just because they keep little enemy files at the democrapic HQ.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It doesn't matter who the GOP endorses --- Ms. Marco will win handily.

Thanks for the replies folks. I really don't keep up on this stuff but my curiosity got tweaked this morning during my walk when I realized that I was seeing all of the Marco signs (did I mention how insulted and enraged I am by the number of signs that are overtaking the weeds in town). and no mention of anybody else running for the office. I was about to freak out about it here but that rant will have to wait. It it good to hear that at least somebody else will be running. Just so you know although I am a "political agnostic" I do vote and my rule of thumb for voting in town elections is the more signs a person peppers the landscape with the less inclined I am to vote for ya. Just a heads up.

Diane Marco is one of the finest and most kind and caring individuals one could ever meet. I have never met a soul who doesn't approve of her. She cares deeply about the frail and the not-so-frail seniors and has been there every step of the way for each and every First Responder ....and Police Officer in our community.

There is no sense and there would be no justice in any decision to run a challenger against her.. yet I would defend her to the death and I would defend her right to place those signs anywhere--- with every ounce of fiber in my being. So take off your stinky diaper and go screw a goat. No one cares about your whiny baby self---anyway!

I'm sure she is, and to be truthful I'm pretty sure I've met her somewhere some other time. I do suffer from CRS so I'm just not sure.
But you did miss the whole point. The post wasn't about an indvidualpoliticalpartytheologyideologyorpersonality...... I DON'T LIKE THOSE FREAKIN' SIGNS. ....You don't need to put one every two feet throughout the town to get your message across. Anybody who puts one more than one a mile apart is either an ego-maniac or stupid!! Common sense would tell you that one sign would let folks know who's running for what. But I forgot that common sense politician is an oxymoron not unlike military intelligence.

Well if that's the case then I would expect the signs to go away. Otherwise what would be the point? Ego, stupidity? You tell me.

Personally, I would prefer not to have any signs either -- but in the end the actually do result in higher name recognition and more votes.    The only way to end the scourge of political signs would be for ALL candidates to sign a pledge to NOT put up signs.

Signs are for private property. When you see blight like DM it means she either ordered way too many or likes her sign on every ant hill. The town should rip down illegal signs on State and town right of ways and fine her campaign. Will she resign from City employment while campaigning full time?

You call it name recognition, I call it sensory overload or Eye Pollution. Doesn't make it right.

Here's an idea. Why not have a one week festival say mid late October. Invite everyone who's running to come speak, put up signs let people know who they are. Every night have free music, beer speechs. A real harvesfest pre-election get together. Get to know the candidates get drunk. Have a great old time. Call it the Rotterdam If Pigs could Fly Pre-Election Meet and Greet Hoedown.

You are obviously some political hack and aren't really concerned about the signs.  There is no reason to discuss this issue any further with you.

You practice selective reading don't cha. I've stated on numerous occasions on these forums that I'm a "political agnostic". Means I think all politicians are liars and thieves. There I said it I feel better. The signs are an eyesore and border on being subliminal messages.
