Break-ins in Bellevue September 5, 2011 at 9:05 pm by Will King
There have been two break-ins on my street in Bellevue. They both happened over this past Labor Day weekend.
One robbery was half a block up the street and the other was my next door neighbors. I’m not sure what was taken from the house up the street, but according to neighbors who overheard police and the homeowners, they got into the house by breaking into the back door which was made of glass.
I do know what was taken from my next door neighbors though. They are a married couple and the wife came over and asked me if I was here all weekend. I was not, I was in Lake George with my family for Labor Day weekend. She then asked if I was missing a chair from my back porch and I didn’t think I had. The reason she asked was because there was a chair set up beneath a window in the back of their house and the perp used the chair to get in through a window.
I thanked her and her husband for telling me what had happened and then went back into my own house and told my wife before we scoured our home to see if anything had been scooped up that we might not have noticed. Thankfully we had everything present and accounted for.
I did look out through my kitchen window at the back of their house and the chair they used was in fact one of my porch chairs. Scary they were actually in my yard first.
They stole her wedding ring and took her pillow case off of her pillow and filled it up with whatever small stuff they could get their hands on. Schenectady police also told my neighbors that the robberies were connected and most likely done the same night.
Everyone in Bellevue (and surrounding neighborhoods) should keep their eyes open for any suspicious activity. Lock your doors, set your alarms, put a light on…anything to make these people think twice about breaking in.
If anyone has any information at all, please contact the Schenectady Police Department.

Very typical renaissance activity in a minor scale. All that prosperity! |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

I found out the other day that the downstairs tenant where I used to live is now moving out because of the crime. And this is including the crap the new upstairs tenants are doing. When I moved in over 10 years ago, we fixed up the place. When we moved out, the landlord put in new carpet and apparently they have had to replace it already. The loud music all night and the parties were just too much. Oh and the damage to his car as well. Its so nice that landlords really care about that rent check coming in. Note the sarcasm. |

It is sad to see. Where I lived, there were more single family homes than rentals. Most of those homes were older people. It started out with food garbage being thrown at cars. Nothing that some water couldnt wash off. Then it went to keying cars. About 6 years ago, a bunch of kids were busted for kicking mirrors off cars. We all pretty much chalked up the former damage to those kids because it stopped.
There was a drug house on the street but they never bothered anyone and they were very conscious about who was watching. They moved out when the cops started making patrols. Everything was quiet for a while. Then we learned about a Level 3 living on the street. He moved out soon after as well. But then came another drug house and on the other block, a part house with a bunch of college age kids. Thats when it all got really bad. Cars getting broke into and property damage. Someone was in the basement and got caught. They were holding parties in the empty house next door and tried to get in our back door. Of course this was reported to the police and thats when more cars were broken into and tires getting slashed.
Thats when we moved out. We had enough. Now the tenants that moved in are doing damage as well. Its really sad when people choose to live like this and create a negative environment to others. |
