The proposal is very reasonable ... the project will not be less expensive if we wait a few years to do it.
This additional cost is an INVESTMENT in our public safety infrastructure --- one that any reasonable and informed person would understand.   The opponents of the plan are neither reasonable nor informed.

Too bad YOU can't vote FOR it (or against it because you just can't vote.) However one of aunties will do it "because you tell her how great of an idea it is." Now let me insult her: If she votes for it, she is as stupid as you are.

Now stop politicizing it- it is for the property owners (TAXPAYERS!!!!) to decide on, and you are not one of them.

Oh, look, we all know they will have their hand out again in a couple for hook and ladders and because the NYFD has the latest toy they need it too. Usually they point to one of the mandates that Paul Tonko passed thru that defies common sense.

The time has come for Fire District consolidation.  The Dems are pushing police consolidation, but don't support fire district consolidation?
Both are public safety.

All the fire departments are tied together already through their mutual aid agreements, all that's needed is a call from a Fire dept for a snorkel from Carman FD or a pumper from District 2 and it's on it's way to the location where it's needed.

Ah but you forget each firehouse needs it's own taxpayer funded kitchen and fully stocked bar and dining facility to be complete.   No mutual aid there.

The Democrats have always supported intergovernmental cooperation and shared services   -- both of which are NOT consolidation.    Since you and McGarry and Abbott  and Tomaselli don't seem to know what these terms actually mean --- I suggest that you folks suspend your campaigns and go sit in on a high school government class to learn first,

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!  Yeah I felt restricted with the forum's limited selection of smilies. There's a Firefox add-on that gives you access to a searchable database with tens of thousands!!!! I've only scratched the surface.
