Listen closely. I heard this is the new theme song for District 5!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Didn't schenectady just buy a fire truck from one of rotterdam's fire dept because it was BETTER then the ones they had?

Please spare the taxpayers the trouble of even having to leave their homes after a hard days work for an unnecessary vote!! Shameful!!

This is clearly a case of WANT not NEED!!

Mertz, it is clear that there is no way to change your mind from its warped way of thinking --- Rotterdam does NOT have A fire department .. it is several VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS.   The fact that Schenectady bought ONE truck from ONE Volunteer Fire Department does NOT negate the fact that another department - in this case Pine Grove does have a 25+ year old fire truck that will need to be replaced in a couple years or so.
Furthermore - Pine Grove Fire Department is NOT just serving Rotterdam -- it serves parts of Guilderland and Princetown --- and the parts of all three municipalities it serves have seen considerable growth in residential housing units in the past 30 years and in commercial properties .. and is expected to see even more growth in the next decade and decades.

The expansion is NEEDED NOW to meet BOTH SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM NEEDS .. and planning for future needs is part of good government.    Of course, you didn't know what good government was when you were in office and - from what I can tell from your posts - have still not figured it out yet.

This one is dedicated to the volunteers at District 5, who want the BEST for the community, even if they can't really afford it!

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Vote YES on the District #5 Referendum.

Ok, WHY?   The equipment they have now fits in the barn.  If it's simply to make it ADA compliant, it doesn't take 3.5M to do that.  If it's to move the generators above the flood plain, that doesn't cost $3.5M either.

So, why exactly should people vote on this preposterous resolution?

TRUE STORY HERE.......a guy I know lives in that district. He was scheduled to go in for minor surgery the day of the vote. He asked the doc to move it up by one day. Which the doc did.

The guy said that he HAS to vote NO!! His reason.....he didn't get a raise this year because of the economy, his health care went up, Groceries are up. His retirement is down. HIs wife's hours were cut at her job. His property value declined............they both said that there is no way in hell they are going to let this vote pass to add even more to their financial burden. And from what he said, most folks feel the same way.

Besides, he said they don't NEED IT!!

This Town is not in reality    along with those that ask for more and give less...

make do with what there is...maybe it's just to compete with District 6...good ol' South Schenectady...

the same with wanting a new police building and such...ask the people in the Junction what they want...far
cry from what they need.
