The estimate of tax per household in the district is $155 per year for 25 years and we all know how costs can escalate once construction starts.

What a bargain because the bathrooms are not handicap for the crippled firemen they employ!

Now let me ask you all a question- WHOSE HOUSE IS UP TO CODE? How far apart are your stair rails and how about your wiring. You ARE AWARE that codes change each year? NONE OF YOUR HOUSES ARE UP TO CODE. DO THEY ALL NEED TO BE REBUILT AND TORN DOWN AND REPLACED WITH SOMETHING THAT COST TWICE AS MUCH? YOU LIVE WITH IT!!!!

I'd still like to know who the brain child was behind putting the generator and the communication equipment in the BASEMENT, no less, of a flood prone area!! And how many years has it been located there?

Do they have sump pumps? If so how many and are they commercial grade? Do they have a ditch to divert water? Would a make shift levee help? How about a french drain/curtain drain at about $10-$16 per linear foot?

$3.5M??? NOPE!

I can teach them how to design a steel tower to put their generator in for about 25 grand, that will keep it out of the flood. And we ALL KNOW that THE CODE will tell you that the tower will need to be handicapped accessible so the crippled mechanic or firefighter can get up there to fix it, but lets operate in reality now, OK? Enough of this posturing and pandering. Just because the Sycophantic Schidrools of Socialism WANT something, and need to fear monger for it, doesn't mean we as taxpayers should not back down- IT IS THE TAXPAYER'S MONEY NOT THE SSS crowd's money!

The fact is that it is a straightforward project with absolutely nothing frivolous in the proposal.  The project will cost the average taxpayer  $10 a month.  That is quite affordable.

And how much will it cost you, a NON-TAXPAYER?  Also, last time I checked, $155 over  12 month period is > $10, but why let facts get in the way?  Minimize it, so it doesn't sound like it is too much for others to pay, since you won't be picking up any of the bill.

It is "ONLY" $10.00 a month. It is "ONLY $1 a day, it is "ONLY" $3 cents a minute. That is how the SSS creeps depict things to brainwash the idiots who think they are not paying enough taxes into voting for it.

Poor thinking on your part does not constitute poor safety on my part....................Lives are on the line. Thinking people will support this -- I predict a close tally yet good sense wins out over fear mongering.........In the end look for another defeat for the GOP and its Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity.

The barbecue chicken dinner was great --- we split one half chicken 3 ways and will use the other 2 halves to make chicken salad and some other chicken dishes later in the week.

So, when it's a free buffet, you go back 3 or 4 times ... but for charity the best you can do is 1 each?

Why don't you get a live chicken --- and let it lay eggs up your butt --- what comes out may even surprise the Nattering Naybobs of Negativity!

Seems to me that there's some people on this board that could already give us the answer as far as what would happen, but if we were to ask them, they would just "yawn."  Maybe that's part of the side effects, it makes you too tired to actually think and comment on conversations that are occurring.

I was going on the $120 a year figure that I heard .. not $155 a year .. but  even $15 or $20 a month extra is well worth it.

Oh -- and I do help pay the taxes .. not that it is any of your business.
