In a recession/depression.......one doesn't raise prices, taxes or fees. They will just 'price themselves out of business'!!

Don't tell that to the Acting Mayor. He thinks if you raise green fees that more rounds will be played. He is an economic genius who created 4,000 Downtown private sector jobs- lol.

They keep looking for things to tax, add fees and raise price to....because.....they have recklessly spent the taxpayer's money on the miracle of state street and the friends and family club. Basically.....they're SPENT AND BROKE!!!

The double whammy for every City taxpayer is that the City has spent everything (and has not cut anyone or anything from the budget in years) AND the Metroplex has systematically decimated the tax base as well.

Some Cities are in a recession, Schenectady has hit a MAJOR depression and all the money is gone. Taxpayers are footing the bill for non-profits and for-profit businesses in the City, and it's killing the taxpayers.

ROFL!

You haven't heard the news, have you   The taxpayers have spoken, they said they CANNOT afford this.   It is NOT a necessity.    The acting mayor is running scared that he won't get elected if he robs the taxpayers and blows money on golf which is NOT a necessity when there are services which are a necessitiy which are getting cut

No, all the taxpayers that pay the for the fiscal incompetence of the City 'leaders'. Now you're going to attack the taxpayers?!?

What's wrong with you SB?! Seriously! Triple-taxed homeowners get you mad? Bet you like seeing the foreclosures of the elderly who lost their family homes after decades of living in the City.

The City DEM working together idiots will be the first to smash the Cuomo tax cap. McCarthy has proved by his long "service" on Metrograft that he can't plan anything. His golf course plan, proposed by all DEM morons, was a complete joke. No one on City Council wanted this steaming pile put on the City agenda. Sure raising greens fees will produce more rounds- lol. With the highest taxes in Upstate NY these DEMS can't pay the City school nor County taxes. And yes every City elected office is held by DEMS. DVR can still enjoy his golf at the lower green fee prices.

please. taxes, taxes, taxes. if u don;t like the taxes, get elected and get them.... or move south.

put i will tell u this,. people will pay taxes to maintain services ---

see what happens when u cut the garbage fee.. people will be happy -- until they find out they have no garbage men to pick up their trash and that they have to go to glenville to dump it, and pay for the privilege.

or else, they will just throw it behind their houses and the crap will accumulate .,..

Always easy to point and blame the taxpayers for the failing of its 'leaders'.

The City of Schenectady taxpayers pay 3 times the amount of surrounding towns/villages yet our schools are in the toilet, the neighborhoods are going to hell and the grafitti is out of control.

If Metroplex was a success, our taxes would not be supporting an entire tax-exempt Downtown with services. Also, these businesses would stay long enough to pay their fair share of taxes when their Plex deals end. Maybe the Plex would have INTEREST on their loans and stop handing out grants like candy (also, Clinton's Ditch and others wouldn't have loans 'forgiven"!?!).

McCarthy finds $40k to temporarily pave the roads, can't pay the schools the $2 million in lost taxes yet his plan was to spend $3 million on a golf course. It's corrupt to the core.

Schenectady is the highest taxed City in the entire region. $10 a thousand more than the second taxed City Watervliet. Broke, can't pay school taxes or County taxes due. So bad that McCarthy has to go to the State Legislature to screw the school kids out of $2 million. But he has money for this moronic plan. Why don't you move in? 1,200 abandoned properties that you can fix up. How come all the idiot cheer leaders for this miserable tax and borrow DEMS don't own property?

Move??????    ROFL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Tell THAT to the overtaxed financially struggling homeowners who have had their houses up for sale for a year with no takers.

And, uh, the garbage fee CAN get cut out and they do NOT, I repeat, they do NOT have to cut the garbarge service.   Just stop the tax exemptions for the millionaires downtown.....the millionaires havce can more than afford to the property taxes on their buildings downtown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And buy the way, you of course are not intelligent enough to know, but the homeowners pay TWICE for trash collection.   They pay through property "tax" meanng the tax paid based on the proeprty assessment AND they pay through the the trash tax, called a "fee" instituted by the socialist BS'er and already raised twice!!!!!!!!!
