Working together (to put the county underwater) works. |
| "While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat." |

"Investing"? LOL. Try flushing. $3 MILLION for the golf course-nothing for animal control or community policing. Keep the implosion going. Working together works! |

Why not just trade the location of the Stockade with the golf course. Then, you don't need to worry about the flooding, it can just be considered a water hazard. |

I look forward to drinking a Guinness at The Schenectady Muni once the Mayor enhances it DESPITE what the Nattering Naybobs of Negativity have to say! Then I will retreat to my chamber and enjoy a glass of single malt Scotch with a splash of spring water and think of old Scotland! I will do this while the Naybobs and the He-She Monkey cry about their soiled diapers. |

the proof about your statement here: McCarthy and his friends don't go to the Hill or MP, they spend most of their time on the golf course.
, where is your proof?
Personally I don't know if McCarthy and his CRONY dem taxpayer funded friends are golfers or not. HOWEVER, it is quite obvious that the statement was made in a sort of joking way, alluding to the unending raping of the taxpayers in order to spend the money on UNNECESSARY WASTEFUL projects |

DV, please explain WHY $3 million shoiuld be spent on a golf course when roads are in DESPARATE need of repair??:???? DV, PLEASE explain WHY $3 million should be spent om a golf course while snow plowing is cut? Why is a golf more important than crime prevention? Huh??????? Can you tell us, DV, WHERE WHERE WHERE is McCarthy going to get the $3 million from??????? HUH????? huh????????? Please explain why it is a negative comment to cricitize the spending of money on a golf course --- WHICH IS NOT A NECESSITY IN ANY WAY MANNER SHAPE OR FORM, when the neighborhoods are DESPARATE for fixing up. Explain HOW is it good to increase the taxas on the homeowners who can't afford to fix up their homes in order to spend it on a golf course??????? Of course, we all on this board know for a FACT that DV will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER provide answers to these questions. For to answer even one of these questions would prove him to be as full of sh*t as he is. |

Taxes and crime. That is all I hear about Schenectady. I recently met with a young man from outside the city on business. He said he knew some people that lived here but didn't know how they did it, because the taxes are so high. He said he could understand wanting to live here, because there were still some beautiful areas, such as Union Street. He asked me where, exactly, was Hamilton Hill. I was also sad to learn that a young family from my neighborhood, a VERY nice family, is moving away altogether. I knew they had their house up for sale, but they have a growing family and they really need a bigger house. Get this - they really WANT to stay in Schenectady but the increased taxes on a larger house are pricing the city out of their reach. They are going to Burnt Hills. This is the third young family I know personally that has looked in the city, wanted to buy in the city, couldn't bring themselves to pay taxes higher than their mortgage or just couldn't afford to, and bought in Burnt Hills. And to top it off, I was getting my hair cut last week and a young man in the salon was talking about being in the process of buying his first home, with his wife. He said, he can't buy where he wants to, right here in Schenectady, because the taxes are too high. He said they looked in Rotterdam, the taxes are bad, but not as bad as Schenectady. This literally makes me sick. We have wonderful young families who WANT TO LIVE IN THE CITY. They are priced out. This is what Schenectady needs, this is what the schools need, educable non-violent students with responsible parents, we don't need "the arts" or some idiotic crappo plan for the neighborhoods! Do something about the taxes, the rest will take care of itself! Of course, some in the city may not really want educated, aware people moving in. It might be a challenge to their little fiefdoms. |

According to the DEM City Council this is the most important quality of life issue? Not pit bulls running amok, not blocks where there is no mail delivery, not repeated "break-ins" at Proctor's, not criminals running around pointing guns, not the gang explosion-a clubhouse for idiots like DVR to soak up free drinks. Because the DEMS let the golf pro take all cart rental he gets $312,000 while the City sheeple get $20,000. Even at $100,000 it will take 30 years to repay this outrage. Watch the DEMS pass this 7-0. It's all about the grease. Even a broke City has to grease the DEM friends and family club. |

When a municipality has failing infrastructure, rampant crime, gangs, shootings, robberies, no jobs, blight, highest taxes in the state, a failing school system..............a golf course ain't gonna cut it for folks to either choose to stay or choose to move there. In fact there is already proof of that!!
The city is ironically trying to build downtown to accommodate college students with gin mills and gyms. College students who will flee schenectady the day after graduation. That is not a renaissance by any stretch of the intelligent imagination. imho |

While I'm a big fan of golf, I really don't see this investment bringing back a great return. The course itself is in decent shape, not good by any means, but I've certainly played on worse. If the golf course is looking to get more business perhaps it should get its website back online!!! It's been down for 6 months, give me a break. Also, they should lower the rates for non residents. Look at the current population in Schenectady, how many of them do you honestly think are golfers? The majority people at Muni are from Rotterdam, Nisky and Guilderland. I'd also like to mention that last time I checked Stadium was either the same price or cheaper on most days and is kept in better condition. Muni should go back to it's roots of being a cheap, casual golf course and quit trying to pretend to be something it's not. |

I am opposed to spending $3 million on the golf course at a time when that money could be better spent fixing up the neighborhoods ---
you can tell that Gravel Gertie is NOT me ... because whoever he or she is likes Guinness (which is Irish "tinkle water" .. that they sell as beer) .. I prefer a real Scottish Beer like Auld Rock from Valhalla Brewery ... dark .. and served WARM .. not ice cold (only girly-men who don't know good beer .. drink ice cold beer). |
