Cabbie assaulted,
car stolen Tuesday
    SCHENECTADY— A man who called for a taxi in the city Tuesday afternoon assaulted the driver while he was helping put the man’s bags into the trunk and then stole the cab, police said.
    The assault was occurred on Crane Street around 12:30 p.m., according Lt. Mark McCracken. The man punched the taxi driver three times while the two men were outside the car, before jumping inside and driving away in the cab. When police pursued, he eventually abandoned the car on Cutler Avenue between Seventh and Eighth streets.
    Police chased the man on foot with help from a K-9 unit, but were unsuccessful in catching him, said McCracken.
    The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Schenectady Police Department.

This happens in a renaissance. It happens everywhere. Malta, Pattersonville, Burnt Hills. etc.

"There are many exciting things happening in the community," stated Acting Mayor McCarthy.

It is really a shame. There are still some great folks who still live in that area. Some have thought of selling their homes but they are well aware that the area has become a war zone and no one would want to buy and raise a family there. Couple that with the high taxes and fees and they are stuck.

Looks like the taxpayers helped Marcellas move out of there!

Guess what makes it possible for liberal socialist progressive leaders to keep their people in misery? It's welfare, food stamps, section 8, heap etc... that make resources available to corrupt leaders so they can buy cronies, votes and stay in power. Keep voting in these clowns and it will only get worse!!!

Oh, we are supposed to bow down and go along with every bad idea the government lobs throw out there, and be good sheep. Or be slaughtered.

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior................

You really should get out and do some real investigating on exactly how the residents.....not the transplants from the city or ones looking for the best welfare deal..........the residents that have been here for years if not decades. Ask them how they appreciate paying the highest taxes in the state for NOTHING!!

The 'commentary' is from the 'real folks' who live the schenectady experience every single day while dodging bullets, gangs and trying to pay their fair share of inflated taxes. It's unfortunate that you would disregard them and continue to prop up and defend the folks that have caused the decline for these residents.
