Child hit by car in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY -- A 5-year-old boy suffered head injuries after being struck by a stolen car in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday night, police say.

The child was airlifted to Albany Medical Center due to the extent and seriousness of his injuries, police said. The accident occurred at 7:23 p.m. in the area of 339 Division St. The child was crossing the street in the middle of the block when he was struck, said Sgt. THIS IS A TRAGEDY that can happen any where, NOT just in SCHENECTADY you foolish naybobs. I am sure you will exploit the tragic death of a child.

Come on guys, you're not supposed to talk about anything not printed in the Gazetto. Oh, and if it does make it in that rag, but it gets buried on a back page in the corner (like the article about the pit bull biting a postal employee), you must NOT speak of it.

Shhhh, everything is fine here.

Didn't we discover, elsewhere on this website, that Schenectady has a very high percentage of illegal drivers?
As an experiment, I would like to see some news source do an investigation with a car with plates listed as stolen. Drive it around, park it on the street, etc. for a week in Schenectady, a week in Colonie, a week in Glenville, Rotterdam and so forth. You get the idea.
My young friend, of whom I have spoken before on this site, was stopped in Glenville because they ran his plate and he had some minor issues with DMV. I am not proposing this kind of police state, I am just pointing out that it is my suspicion that in some neighborhoods you would not be able to drive around recklessly, undetected, in a stolen car for a whole week.
Politics was not the first thing that entered MY mind when I read the article.

The most common thing is aggravated unlicensed operation and just about all of them are Schen residents.  Schen PD stinks in this area of enforcement.  They leave up to all the surrounding towns and villages.

Wonder what the penalty is for it?

Perhaps that is why they want to consolidate.....yes?

consolidation doesn't equal wisdom

consolidation equals police state

we must be careful where we tread.....make the justices' accountable................that's why they get paid their (supposed) pitance.....JMHO
