I know a few folks who work in the dss building and they have stressed from day one....that it won't be 'if' but rather 'when' the mudslide will happen.

I believe those are jute mats that contain grass seed for quick vegetation of slopes. Couldn't be worse timing with the projected torrential rains tonight into tomorrow. The failure mode is the toe of the slope fails and allows the upper part of the hill to slip and fail causing it to slide. Heavy rains weaken the coefficient of friction of the sand particles. A slide is certainly a possibility . . . .

But you cheer for all tha tax money given out to millioniares. SPend the tax money on beer fests, and gin mills. Give out money for jazz club not once but twice to bail them out of financial problems, doesn't matter about the financially struggling homeowners who live in the city, the taxpayers and residents don't get a good quality of life, they just have to dodge bullets, they have to fear for their life walking to a neighborhood church (why do you think St. Mary's closed----the people in that neighborhood left), the taxpayers have to fear for their chldren's lives playing outside because of less police protection.
And no tax money to plan ahead for these possible weather events. Nope. Just keep spending the tax money downtown, which is NOT producing any new jobs (just moving the EXISTING LOW WAGE jobs from one street to another), still no place to shop downtown, no retailers, after hundreds of mlliions of taxpayers dollars spent downtown, there STILL is no place to buy anything except a bunch of second hand hunk and the drug needs (and I DON'T mean prescritption either).
And, uh, show us the PROOF that Galesi is paying taxes on any metroplex builing projects Show us SBFOL. Show us the proof. Produce the links to the tax records what prove your statements. Oh, you can't because what you say are all lies
