Once again you are attacking a straw man. Dog attacks happen in even the poshest enclave of the richest of the rich. Saratoga is not even immune from them.

I just read on the other thread how you were soooooooo concerned about public safety and the NNTP.....seriously?

just kill the dogs and maybe the 'poor victims of crime fundraiser' would like to pay for this woman's shredded body....because we
all know ya cant get blood from a stone when that stone is planted on my back in the form of social welfare.....how's that
welfare working out for ya?.....yeah,,,it's feeding these dogs....I hope the owners get eaten by one....

Right no biggie when a lady is permanently injured walking to the grocery by 3 pit bulls. It is still on the news. Please report when this happened in Saratoga. Every time these DEM morons are confronted with the total lack of accomplishment they falsely point to other cities. They don't have a Metrograft. They aren't building a new County home adding $10 MILLION a year to oppressed property owners tax bills.

In Saratoga bodies aren't missing for weeks in then fall from a wrecking crew after a fire. Colonie's deficit is $3 million not $10 million as another idiot stated. Amsterdam is getting a new Kohl's while Schenectady is getting a facade improvement on a governmental gin mill!

I myself took in a pit bull that was beaten.  But that was back in the 90s.  She was a very sweet dog and very scared for her life.  I already had two dogs and I was told that I couldnt license a third.  So I gave the dog to a friend who was able to provide a great home for her.  I know several people in the city that have pits and they are not trained for attacking or fighting.  But then again, there are several more that are.  I find it sickening that these dogs have to go through this.  Im sure that these dogs are being trained for attacking and fighting and also used as guards for drug dealers.

Last year, some pitbulls "escaped" and went onto the playground at the school over there and the owner was not charged.  The dogs were returned to the owner.  And this was AFTER they attacked a teacher and a student.  Im almost wondering if these were the same dogs.  After the attacks, the school brought in experts with pitbulls that have been rehabilitated to show the kids that not all pits are aggressive.  A couple of those dogs were former Vicks dogs.

Its not the dogs faults but the owners in how they train and treat the dogs.  Any dog can be vicious.  My grandma once had a Pom that attacked the mailman all the time.

I myself have a rescued dog.  She will not harm anyone.  But she does bark when someone rings the door bell.  The thing about it is that people see my dog and automatically assume that she will be a vicious dog because she resembles a Shepherd.  I then have to explain to them that she is not a Shepherd but that she is a Kelpie.  No one has heard of a Kelpie so they then assume the worst for that breed too.  Its stupid.  Shes a little herding dog.  Shes 40lbs.  The shepherd I once had was 130lbs.  BIG difference.

The last I heard about the news of this attack, two of the dogs were put down and the third will be soon.  But this does not help the victim at all.  She will have to live with the scars and the fear for the rest of her life and this is not fair to her.  The owners should be charged.  She didnt provoke the attack.  She was innocent.

That poor lady : ( They must of been attacking for a while until the police came. Wonder if the shelter saw any scars on the dogs to show if they had been in fights?

Tried to find any info on dog "laws" for the city of Sch'dy and could only find this, a county law passed years ago

SCHENECTADY - County legislators Tuesday passed a law requiring municipalities to have an ordinance protecting people from dangerous dogs.
The law requires the county's towns to adopt rules mandating that dog owners take out a $5,000 bond on hazardous dogs, keep them confined and agree to put them down if they injure anyone.

Hazardous can be defined by the municipality, but it must include the terrier breed known as pit bulls, said Robert Farley, R-Glenville, who proposed the legislation.

Several children and adults have been injured by dogs of that breed over the past year in the city, and there have been arrests of individuals who either train such dogs to fight or let them run loose.

If the localities do not pass the ordinance, the county will not re-distribute any dog licensing fees it receives, according to the ordinance.

"We cannot have these dogs roaming the streets and having access to children," Farley said.

Municipalities are required to give a certain percent of their projected revenue from dog-license sales as an insurance, said George Davidson, county finance director. If the county does not use the money, officials refund the municipalities a portion of their shares at the end of the year. This year that amount was $6,439.

Nine legislators voted in favor of the law while five voted against it. One legislator was absent.

Those who voted against the law, including Kent Gray, D-Rotterdam and Michael Kirvin, D-Rotterdam, said they preferred to discuss the law with town supervisors before requiring them to do anything. Both legislators stressed, however, that they were concerned about children being bitten and felt something should be done about it.

Karen Johnson, D-Schenectady, said she was not sure municipalities had the authority to single out a breed of dogs. She also voted against the proposal.

The Schenectady City Council is considering passing a law requiring stricter control of vicious dogs but was told they could not legally single out breeds. To get around the issue, the city's corporation counsel suggested they place requirements on the dogs by weight.

OMG! I can't even imagine what this woman went through!!! It is horrific!! Now because of this scum dog owner, 3 dogs will be killed, the victim will never be the same both physically and emotionally for life.....and the scum bag owner will 'maybe' get a citation!!!

Ya know what......these dogs just might be better off being put down as opposed to living the life they 'probably' did with this scum bag owner!!

this just makes me sick!!

AGAIN......how many dogs can a person legally own in the city before they are deemed a kennel? Are all dogs required to be licensed in the city? Were these dogs licensed? If dogs need to be licensed, then the city has records of who owns pit bulls and where they reside.

Anyone ever check out 'off da rip' on broadway by capri's? They sell pit bull puppies and supplies. There are pit's there all the time!!

She deserves jail time.  If she was some parent letting her kids drink in the house and something happened, she would be doing jail time.  And this woman should never be permitted to own a dog again unless she and the dog go to obedient school.

Thank you for the outcry lead by this board. The City has now reversed course and has filed 4 criminal counts against the 21 year old idiot
pit bull owner. Three counts of harboring dangerous dogs and one count of an unlicensed dog. A slap on the wrist but what do you expect from these
pathetic DEM rubber stamps? GG pretends to care about women and children but only cares about who wins some Town Jerk job. See yous
at City Court on September 12th when a full docket of pit bull attacks will be tried.

Not surprised that pathetic Karen Johnson was one of 5 DEMS to oppose the old County vicious dog law. She lives in the City and turns a deaf ear to
everything except flushing more money at Proctor's. She is more concerned with dog discrimination than a woman nearly killed. The County will have to
get more involved because of the City's total incompetence. With DEM morons Acting McCarthy, King, Brucker and Gary Hughes who have been repeatedly
warned about the pit bull problem-don't expect jack s***. The only concern is keeping their phony baloney jobs.

She needs to be locked up. As Yossi stated throw her in prison pending trial.
Not given a slap on the wrist citation only after a public outcry. Why does any 21 year old idiot need 3 pits?

Our prayers are with the victim. And that someone with a clue at the City Attorney's throws the book at this idiot.

Jail time is about all the law could impose on this 21 year old. Can't get blood out of a stone.

HOWEVER...........the victim just may be able to go after the homeowner's insurance company. (an insurance agent told me that)
